Job summary

The Wingate School, part of Inspired Education Group, seeks a Secondary English Teacher for the Mexico City campus to foster literature, language skills, and independent learning among middle school students.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s in English, a PGCE or equivalent, and at least two years of middle school English teaching experience, with a commitment to inquiry-based learning and student-centered practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• PGCE or equivalent internationally recognized teaching qualification is essential.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience teaching English at middle school level.
• Strong command of English; experience with international curricula or inquiry-based learning.
• Student-centered teaching, strong relationships with adolescents; excellent classroom management.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver English Language Arts lessons for Middle School aligned with international standards.
• Foster critical thinking, creativity, and a love of literature and writing.
• Differentiate instruction to support diverse language learners.
• Use formative and summative assessments to monitor progress.

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Wingate School (TWS) is an Inspired Education Group school located in Mexico City and an accredited Cambridge International School and IB World School that offers an educational programme focused on academic excellence, creativity, and human formation.

TWS teaches the International Early Years Curriculum in Kinder, the International Primary Curriculum, and the Cambridge Lower Secondary Curriculum. Our team is growing, and we are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacherto join our dynamic Secondary team in August 2027. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plan and deliver engaging English Language Arts lessons aligned with international standards for Middle School.
• Foster critical thinking, creativity, and a love of literature and writing in students.
• Differentiate instruction to support students with diverse learning needs and language backgrounds.
• Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and inform instruction.
• Collaborate with colleagues across departments to support cross-curricular learning and school initiatives.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom culture that promotes student agency and respect.
• Maintain open communication with parents and participate in school meetings and events.
• Contribute to the co-curricular life of the school, including clubs, activities, or events.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• A Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
• A PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) or equivalent internationally recognized teaching qualificationis essential.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience teaching English at the middle school level.
• Strong command of the English language (native or near-native fluency).
• Experience with international curricula or inquiry-based learning approaches.
• A student-centered approach and ability to build strong relationships with adolescents.
• Excellent classroom management and organizational skills.
• A collaborative, innovative mindset and commitment to continuous professional growth.
