Amazon Mexico is seeking a full-time Safety Specialist to serve as a designated safety representative for Amazon Logistics, coordinating and implementing the global safety program. The role promotes a positive safety culture and trains associates on safe work habits.

The Safety Specialist maintains accurate metrics, ensures compliance with safety standards and applicable laws, conducts risk assessments, and recommends risk mitigation measures including ergonomics.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• 2+ years of workplace health & safety experience.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1910).
• Experience using Microsoft Word professionally.
• Experience maintaining confidentiality in workplace matters.
• Familiarity with MX STPS and IMSS regulations.

Responsabilidades

• Identify safety compliance issues and improvement opportunities through audits.
• Facilitate incident investigations.
• Maintain paperwork to comply with Amazon and STPS regulations.
• Enter Safety Incident Information in internal databases.
• Perform safety observations and audits.
• Train others to complete safety responsibilities.
• Provide safety training as required by the Safety Manager.
• May support fire prevention, hazardous waste, or other safety tasks.
• Participate in process improvement activities and close actions.

Amazon Mexico is seeking a full-time Safety Specialist to serve as a designated safety representative for Amazon Logistics, coordinating and implementing all areas of the Amazon Global Safety Program as directed by the safety leadership. The Safety Specialist promotes a positive safety culture while complying with Amazon safety standards and maintaining a safe work environment. This includes conducting trainings and coaching associates on observed work habits.

The Safety Specialist is required to maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly metrics to report to regional management teams and corporate based reporting systems. The Safety Specialist supports management’s efforts to ensure compliance with all corporate Safety Program expectations and applicable federal & state laws. The Safety Specialist also conducts risk assessments related to jobs performed (Job Hazard Analysis) and new equipment introductions. In addition, the Safety Specialist is responsible for recommending appropriate risk mitigation measures to management, including ergonomics.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Identify and inform management of compliance issues, safety risks, and improvement opportunities through the conduct of daily, weekly, and monthly audits
• Facilitate incident investigation process
• Maintain required paperwork to comply with Amazon and STPS regulations
• Enter Safety Incident Information in internal database in a timely manner
• Perform safety observations & audits
• Train and assist others (Area Managers, safety team members, etc.) to complete their safety responsibilities (Audits, Follow Safety Rules, etc.)
• Perform specific safety training as required by the Safety Manager
• May have additional responsibility for fire prevention, hazardous waste management, or other safety related activities depending on the business unit and location
• Participate in process improvement activities and manage actions to completion

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• 2+ years of workplace health & safety (WHS) related field experience
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910
• Experience using Microsoft Word in a professional capacity
• Experience maintaining confidentiality in matters involving security or personnel issues in the workplace
• STPS regulation, IMSS following and other governmental dependences in MX

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in emergency response
• Experience in worker's compensation case management
