PPG Industries in Mexico seeks a Resin Process Engineer to analyze, design, and optimize manufacturing processes to boost productivity, quality, safety and cost efficiency. You will lead continuous improvement initiatives and transfer technologies.

Reporting to the Resin Process Engineering Manager, you will support safety, quality control, and ERP/PLM systems, including Oracle, ensuring data integrity and robust documentation across CHAMP and GPS.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering is required.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in process engineering in chemical, coatings, resins, or manufacturing.
• Intermediate English level.
• Experience with ERP/PLM systems, preferably Oracle.

Responsabilidades

• Lead implementation of products and processes to increase capacity and transfer technologies.
• Serve as Oracle PLM/OPM QA system user, ensuring data integrity.
• Provide technical support for process deviations and equipment setup.
• Develop and execute Quality Improvement Plans from SPC data.
• Support Process Safety Management by risk assessments for reactors and tanks.
• Manage formulas, routings, recipes, and QC specs in PLM/Oracle.
• Maintain technical docs in CHAMP and GPS.

As a Resin Process Engineer you will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve productivity, quality, safety, and cost efficiency. Leads continuous improvement initiatives, identifies process enhancement opportunities, and implements sustainable solutions to support operational excellence and business objectives.

This position reports to the Resin Process Engineering Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the successful implementation and re-implementation of products and processes aligned with business strategies to increase installed capacity, while ensuring the transfer of new internal and external technologies (CIP, DPP, PPG-USA, and third- party sources).
• Serve as the Oracle Key User for the PLM (Product Development), OPM GMD (Process Engineering), and OPM QA (Quality Assurance) modules, providing system support and ensuring data integrity.
• Provide technical support for product and process deviations, new raw material handling and storage, laboratory analytical equipment setup and operation, operator technical training, product quality and performance issues, PLC (DeltaV) configuration, and process equipment design initiatives.
• Develop and execute Quality Improvement Plans based on Statistical Process Control (SPC) data and support product recovery activities when required.
• Support Process Safety Management initiatives by conducting risk assessments for reactors and flammable liquid storage tanks, and ensuring closure of identified action items.
• Manage formulas, routings, recipes, and quality control specifications for in-process and finished products within PLM and Oracle systems.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation for products and manufacturing processes in CHAMP and GPS systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in process engineering within the chemical, coatings, resins, or manufacturing industry.
• Intermediate English level
• Strong knowledge of process optimization, quality systems, process safety, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience working with ERP/PLM systems Preferent Oracle.
