A multinational manufacturer is seeking a Resident Engineer in San José Iturbide, Mexico. This role supports the execution of technical projects to achieve safety, quality, productivity, and environmental goals. Responsibilities include managing layouts, driving project compliance, and ensuring effective stakeholder involvement. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 4-7 years of relevant experience. US citizenship or valid visa is required.

Formación

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for layout and flow diagram updates.

Mission

The Resident Engineer supports the execution of the factory’s investment plan by ensuring the successful delivery of technical projects that meet established targets in Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Environmental performance. This role is accountable for delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Additionally, the Resident Engineer maintains up-to-date layouts, flow diagrams, and technical documentation, while developing new layout proposals in response to the needs of internal departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Keep the layouts, flow diagrams, and technical information updated at all times, and develop new layout proposals requested by different internal areas.
  • Generate investment plan to factory relevance.
  • Market BU needs in terms of new products or additional capacity.
  • Factory needs for continuous improvement of its S.Q.C.D.E performance.
  • Address assets protection needs and maintenance upgrades.
  • Identify IT equipment needs.
  • Organize and drive internal and external resources to manage the projects portfolio in the investment plan.
  • Ensure compliance with project management methodology for CAPEX and for product innovation/renovation as the group needs.
  • Ensure Time/Cost and Quality commitments are met for all projects along their timeline.
  • Ensure constant stakeholder involvement and consistent project KPIs reporting.
  • Build effective relationships with Central Engineering.
  • Manage the engineering contractors on site following company’s contractors management rules.
  • Apply safety project management internal rules.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
  • Minimum of 4–7 years of experience in project engineering or industrial maintenance environments.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for layout and flow diagram updates.
  • Familiarity with FSSC 22000 standards and environmental regulations.
  • Understanding of project management methodologies (CAPEX, product innovation, renovation).
  • Ability to manage multiple technical projects ensuring timely, cost-effective, and quality delivery.
  • Strong ability to analyze factory needs, identify improvement opportunities, and propose layout optimizations.
  • Knowledge of national environmental regulations.
  • Awareness of personal impact on environmental conservation.
  • Ability to stay informed on environmental developments and trends.
  • Effective coordination with internal stakeholders (Factory Leadership, Maintenance, Engineering teams).
  • Commitment to upholding internal safety and environmental standards.
  • Drive to implement engineering best practices and promote standardization across processes.
