Job summary

Bluelight seeks a senior software architect to lead the design of low-latency, scalable systems on AWS with PostgreSQL/AuroraDB. You will drive architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and deliver architecture documentation and ADRs for complex, multi-tenant environments.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in development with 3+ years in architecture roles and a track record of building secure, high-performance services and APIs.

Qualifications

• 8+ years professional software development experience with 3+ years in architecture-focused roles.
• Deep experience designing low-latency service architectures in AWS.
• Experience in latency budgets (p95/p99) and durable commits.
• Experience designing audit/evidence systems and deterministic historical replay.
• Experience with secure multi-tenant environments and tradeoffs (RLS vs. tenancy models).
• Expertise in RESTful APIs and SDK integrations.
• Strong Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript across the stack.
• Ability to produce architecture docs, ADRs, and reviews.
