Job summary

HireHawk Inc. is seeking a highly organized Email & SMS Manager to own the day-to-day execution and optimization of our retention marketing program. This is a remote, full-time contractor role reporting to the Head of Growth.

You’ll build and own the email/SMS calendar, develop lifecycle flows, craft campaigns, QA before launch, and analyze performance to drive retention and revenue. Work closely with the Email Designer and present briefs and results.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on Email & SMS experience in DTC/e-commerce.
• Strong experience with Klaviyo and lifecycle marketing platforms.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented; you create structure.
• Strong copy and messaging instincts.
• Comfortable using Notion and Figma to create briefs and flow maps.
• Strong QA mindset; you catch issues before they become problems.
• Proactive and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Own the weekly and monthly Email & SMS calendar.
• Build and optimize key lifecycle flows, including Welcome, Abandoned Browse, Abandoned Cart, Checkout, Post-Purchase, Winback, and other retention flows.
• Develop campaign concepts, messaging, segmentation.
• Translate strategy into clear briefs and proposals for the Email Designer.
• Work closely with the designer to ensure campaigns are executed according to brief.
• Manage campaigns from concept through launch.
• Own the full QA process before emails and SMS go live.
• Review copy, links, CTAs, segmentation, personalization, offers, mobile/desktop rendering, tracking, and overall customer experience.
• Monitor campaigns after launch and flag any issues quickly.
• Own weekly Email & SMS reporting.
• Track KPIs and clearly communicate performance, trends, and areas of concern.
• Provide actionable recommendations, not just numbers.
