Job Overview
We’re looking for a strategic analytical Digital Marketing Strategist to own and advance the company's SEO strategy while managing our broader organic visibility, Online Reputation Management (ORM), and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) across the company’s full online presence. This includes the ONTHEMARC websites, search engines, local listings, directories, and AI-driven platforms where our brand can be discovered or recommended. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and hands‑on executor who turns SEO performance and reputation insights into action—guiding content strategy, website and listing updates, review management, and reporting to ensure ONTHEMARC is discoverable, credible, and trusted wherever potential clients search, browse, or seek recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Strategy & Oversight
- Own and evolve company’s SEO strategy, aligned with business goals for catering and venue bookings.
- Manage and optimize the company’s full online presence, including websites, search engines, local listings, directories, and AI-powered platforms.
- Conduct ongoing keyword, topic, and competitor research to identify opportunities for growth across weddings, corporate events, nonprofit events, and social celebrations.
- Monitor and report on SEO, AEO, and ORM performance, identifying trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Website SEO & Content Strategy
- Audit and optimize site architecture, internal linking, and navigation for the company and venue websites to enhance user experience and search performance.
- Optimize core pages, landing pages, and new content for priority keywords, search intent, and conversions.
- Create SEO‑focused content briefs and page outlines for execution by the Digital Marketing Coordinator and other team members.
- Implement on‑page optimizations, including titles, meta descriptions, headers, image alt text, schema markup, and internal linking.
- Collaborate with web developers or platform admins to ensure technical SEO health, including site speed, mobile performance, indexation, and crawlability.
- Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) & Structured Data
- Develop and execute strategies for the company and venue brands to appear in AI‑powered answers, featured snippets, “People Also Ask,” and local packs.
- Implement and maintain structured data (schema) for organization, local business, events, FAQs, menus, and venues.
- Identify and test content formats likely to be cited or surfaced in answer engines and conversational search.
- Online Reputation Management (ORM) & Local SEO
- Own and optimize Google Business Profiles and other key local listings for the company and venues.
- Ensure consistency of name, address, phone, and website information across all directories, partner sites, and platforms.
- Support the company’s review and reputation strategy, including responses, review generation initiatives, and insight reporting.
- Track and optimize performance on high‑impact third‑party platforms such as The Vendry, event directories, and venue marketplaces.
- Measurement, Reporting & Collaboration
- Set up and maintain dashboards and reports using tools such as Google Analytics (GA4), Search Console, rank‑tracking platforms, and other SEO tools.
- Translate SEO, AEO, and ORM data into clear, actionable insights for the Director of Marketing and leadership team.
- Collaborate with the Digital Marketing Coordinator on content calendars, blog posts, landing pages, and campaigns to support organic growth.
- Partner with Sales and Venue teams to identify priority services, locations, and event types to target in organic search.
Qualifications, Skills, and Key Competencies
- 3–5 years of hands‑on SEO experience, ideally within multi‑location service businesses, hospitality, events, or related industries.
- Proven track record of improving organic traffic, search rankings, and conversions for small to mid‑sized brands.
- Strong understanding of on‑page, technical, local SEO, structured data, and AEO best practices.
- Familiarity with ORM best practices and a strategic approach to review management and brand presence online.
- Experience using SEO and analytics tools, including Google Analytics (GA4), Search Console, Google Business Profile, and rank‑tracking platforms.
- Experience working within CMS platforms (Showit, Webflow, WordPress, or similar) and coordinating with designers or developers.
- Strong writing and editing instincts, with the ability to think in terms of search intent, user experience, and brand voice.
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Collaborative and able to work cross‑functionally with marketing, sales, and venue teams.
