OPmobility SE in Guanajuato, Mexico, is seeking an experienced SAP EDI Operations Specialist to configure and maintain EDI mappings and interfaces with trading partners. You will collaborate with SAP functional consultants and business units to translate requirements into technical specifications.

Responsibilities include testing, data mapping, and ensuring accurate data exchange across SAP and external systems, with a strong focus on interoperability and performance KPIs.

Formación

• University degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience in Information Systems operations.
• SD SAP Academy certification or equivalent is a differentiator.
• Familiarity with Automotive EDI systems in Americas (Brazil, Argentina) is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Configure SAP EDI channels, partner profiles, and communication settings for data exchange with trading partners.
• Set up and map EDI transactions (ODETTE EDIFACT, DELFOR, DELJIT, EDI 850/856/810/940, etc.) between SAP and external systems.
• Develop and maintain EDI mappings with middleware tools.
• Translate business requirements into technical EDI specifications.
• Collaborate with SAP consultants and stakeholders to ensure successful EDI integration.
• Support testing, validation, and go-live activities for EDI processes.
• Provide reports on EDI performance, errors, and KPIs to management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Configure EDI channels, partner profiles, and communication settings within SAP, ensuring accurate and efficient data exchange with external trading partners, vendors, and customers.
• Work with external vendors and business partners to set up EDI transactions (such as ODETTE EDIFACT, DELFOR, DELJIT, EDI 850, EDI 856, EDI 810, EDI 940, ANFAVEA, etc.) and ensure proper data mapping between SAP and external systems.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of EDI mappings (using middleware tools) to ensure seamless data transformation between SAP and external systems.
• Work closely with functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective EDI mappings.
• Work closely with business units, SAP functional consultants, and external stakeholders (such as trading partners and vendors) to ensure successful EDI integration and data flow.
• Gather business requirements for EDI-related processes, such as order processing, invoicing, and shipment tracking, and translate them into technical specifications.
• Support cross-functional teams in testing and validating EDI solutions before they are deployed into production environments.
• Provide detailed reports on EDI system performance, error logs, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to management and stakeholders.

ACTIVITIES

Business Needs management:

• Collaborate with business users to gather detailed business requirements for SAP EDI processes.
• Assist in the creation and maintenance of user guides and training materials to support business users in understanding EDI workflows.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of EDI configurations, mappings, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.

Configuration & Customization:

• Configure EDI channels, partner profiles, and communication settings within SAP, ensuring accurate and efficient data exchange with external trading partners, vendors, and customers.
• Perform system testing (unit testing, integration testing) to ensure the correct configuration and functionality of SAP EDI processes.
• Participate in workshops and design sessions to identify improvements, developments and customizations in the SAP system when needed.
• Plan and execute testing phases, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT) for related with EDI process and SAP modules
• Ensure system configurations and processes are aligned with business requirements and industry best practices.
• Resolve any issues or defects identified during testing to ensure a smooth go-live.Project Documentation & Reporting :
  • Maintain project documentation, including project plans, configuration guides, test scripts, and issue logs.
  • Work within an Agile or Waterfall methodology to support SAP project delivery timelines and milestones
  • Report regular project status and progress to project managers and stakeholders, ensuring transparency on progress, highlighting successes, challenges, and areas for improvement and any risks or issues that may affect deadlines.
  • Develop training materials and user documentation for operational support.

  Collaboration with Stakeholders :

  • Work with key business stakeholders, functional leads, and technical consultants to ensure alignment between business requirements and SAP functionality.
  • Support cross-functional teams in addressing any challenges related to other SAP modules and processes.
  • Help drive collaboration between IT, supply chain, and operations teams to deliver high-quality SAP solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline EDI processes and improve SAP EDI configurations.
  • Keep up with the latest SAP EDI best practices, updates, and industry trends to provide recommendations for system enhancements.

  What we are looking for?

  • University degree or Engineering School with specialization in Information
  • Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Information Systems operations
  • SD SAP Academy certification or related is a differential
  • Familiarity with different Automotive customer EDI system across Americas region, including Brazil and Argentina.
  • Proven track record in managing applications support and operations at a global level.
  • Expertise in managing enterprise applications such as ERP, EDI, and manufacturing systems.
  • Experience with D&IS service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL).
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and practices in the context of enterprise applications.
  • Knowledge of enterprise applications, systems integration, and business processes.
