Hussmann in Oaxaca, Mexico is seeking a Quality Systems and Metrology Engineer to lead the QMS, calibrations, and metrology activities, ensuring ISO 9001 alignment and data-driven quality improvements.

You will supervise calibration and metrology staff, coordinate internal audits and external certifications, track quality metrics and report to management, and lead cross‑functional process improvements to ensure reliable measurements and product quality.

Resumen

The Quality Systems and Metrology Engineer is responsible for managing and coordinating the Quality Management System (QMS) while also overseeing the calibration and metrology functions. This role ensures compliance with industry standards, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and maintains precise measurement systems and equipment.

Responsabilidades

• Team Supervision: Lead efficient day to day operation of the Calibrations/Metrology technicians team, including resources review; hiring, performance review and development of personnel. Direct daily workplace activities of Calibration and Metrology team in the plant.
• Quality Management System (QMS) Coordination: Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System in accordance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001). Conduct internal audits to verify compliance with QMS procedures and identify areas for improvement. Manage QMS documentation, including quality manuals, procedures, and records. Coordinate and facilitate external audits and certifications. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to QMS activities. Lead continuous improvement initiatives and special projects related to quality systems as assigned by the Quality Manager (QM).
• Metrology and Calibration Management: Oversee the calibration and maintenance of measurement and test equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability. Develop and implement calibration procedures and schedules that maintain records and ensure compliance with industry standards. Investigate and resolve measurement issues and discrepancies. Lead continuous improvement initiatives and special projects related tocalibrations and metrology as assigned by the Quality Manager (QM).
• Quality Metrics Management: Track, analyze, report, and improve plant quality metrics. Prepare detailed reports and presentations for management review. Use statistical techniques to analyze data and drive quality improvements.
• Issue Resolution and Communication: Interface with certification bodies, management and related departments to resolve non-conformances. Communicate findings and corrective actions to relevant stakeholders.
• Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs for internal auditors on various audits, including internal QMS audits, Layered Process Audits (LPA), and product audits.
