Responsibilities
Join PepsiCo’s LATAM Quality team as a Senior Manager, Supply Chain Quality Control (SC QC) and play a key role in driving product excellence across our co‑manufacturing network. This position leads and supports end‑to‑end Product Quality Programs and ensures compliance with Food Safety systems across LATAM sites.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Leading E2E Product Quality and Food Safety compliance across LATAM co‑manufacturing operations.
- Ensuring the Quality & Food Safety System (QAS) is fully implemented in all LATAM CO Plants to guarantee product consistency aligned with design specifications.
- Verifying that approved Co‑Manufacturers meet PepsiCo’s standards and are eligible to operate within the region.
- Overseeing raw material quality and reception processes, coordinating with multifunctional teams to mitigate risks through Supplier Performance Management Governance.
- Supporting Sensory Evaluation Programs in collaboration with FSQA and Manufacturing teams to ensure proper calibration, methodology, and delivery of high‑quality products.
LATAM Quality Manager, you will:
- Implement Global Quality and Safety programs across Co‑Manufacturing sites, acting as a key liaison with operations and ensuring alignment with PepsiCo values.
- Apply the Quality Audit System to verify compliance with internal protocols and support product quality strategies that reduce complaints and defects through continuous improvement.
- Audit and evaluate Co‑Plant sites, establishing performance metrics aligned with PepsiCo’s Quality and Food Safety standards.
- Ensure all specifications—ingredients, packaging, finished product, formulations, analytical methods—are clearly communicated and replicated from first production through the product lifecycle.
- Support R&D teams in scaling products at industrial level, including test runs, commissioning, and qualification, ensuring Co‑Manufacturing sites can replicate product design effectively.
- Monitor execution of internal and third‑party audits, providing technical support and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Provide hands‑on support to Co-Man and CO Plants when discrepancies arise between specifications and actual product output.
- Lead forums such as E2E Track, Supplier Performance Management, and COP for Quality & Comans to drive strategic alignment and operational excellence.
- Ensure Co‑Manufacturing sites proactively communicate any changes in plant operations, raw materials, or processes that may impact production, quality, or food safety.
- Oversee compliance with technical and legal specifications for imported/exported products, supporting FSMA implementation where needed.
- Deliver technical training across LATAM sites to ensure proper calibration and execution of Product Quality systems.
- Coordinate CQA and PQMD plans, guiding Sensory Evaluation programs to ensure products meet consumer expectations and deliver winning experiences in the market.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
We are seeking a seasoned professional with a strong background in Food Quality, R&D, and Manufacturing, capable of driving excellence across diverse teams and geographies. This role requires both strategic vision and hands‑on expertise to lead quality initiatives in a dynamic, multinational environment.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience & Skills
- 10+ years of experience in Quality, R&D, and Production roles, with a proven track record of implementing quality programs in food manufacturing facilities and warehouses.
- Fluent in English and Spanish; basic proficiency in Portuguese is desirable.
- Deep understanding of food regulatory compliance, manufacturing processes, and industry‑standard quality management systems.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results, proactively identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Strong networking and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence cross‑functional teams and drive decision‑making.
- Strategic and critical thinker with a global mindset.
- Experience managing diverse, multicultural teams across multiple countries and external environments.
- Ability to balance local, sector, and global objectives effectively.
Technical Expertise
- Quality Systems & Tools: eQMS (Electronic Quality Management Systems) for audits, non‑conformities, documentation, and corrective actions (e.g., Daruma Software, MasterControl, TrackWise).
- Process automation (bots, automated workflows) to reduce manual tasks and human error.
- Cloud platforms enabling remote access, traceability, and real‑time collaboration (e.g., Daruma).
- Management dashboards to monitor KPIs, response times, and regulatory compliance.
- Digital traceability systems.
- Food Safety & Laboratory Operations: HACCP systems, sampling protocols, experimental design, traceability, general chemistry, and statistical process control.
- Metrology and laboratory operations.
Digital Skills
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Power BI and Power Apps.
- End‑to‑end quality management, risk assessments, and control strategies.
- Expertise in CQV (Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation) to support product launches and scale‑up across regional sites.
- External certification standards and industry best practices.
- Solid understanding of PepsiCo’s Global Co‑Man Program and its implementation across LATAM.
Communication & Leadership
- Strong communicator, able to clearly articulate strategy and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Skilled in presenting complex information in a structured, concise, and impactful way.
- Proven ability to foster collaboration, inspire teams, and promote excellence.
