The Functionary is seeking a QA Analyst to test and validate software controlling or monitoring washer/dryer hardware in Mexico City. You’ll design test cases, execute functional and API tests, and contribute to QA strategy across software and IoT integrations.

You will document defects in JIRA, collaborate with developers, and help create test docs in Confluence. A 1–3 year QA background with API/SQL expertise is ideal, including mobile testing and automation experience.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field.
• 1-3 years of QA experience with demonstrated experience in API testing (Postman or similar) and SQL.
• Experience in Mobile App Testing (iOS/Android), Test Automation, or Tableau for QA reporting.
• Strong critical thinking and analytical skills; design test cases from requirements; identify edge cases and alternative failure scenarios.
• Proficiency with JIRA for bug tracking and test case management.
• Experience with Confluence for documentation and knowledge sharing.
• Knowledge of QA principles, methodologies, and best practices.
• Attention to detail and excellent communication; willingness to learn hardware-software integration.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong critical thinking abilities and expertise in modern QA tools and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test cases and test scenarios based on requirements and user stories
• Perform thorough testing including functional, integration, regression, and API testing
• Critically analyze software functionality to identify edge cases and potential failure scenarios
• Document and track bugs, defects, and inconsistencies using JIRA
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
• Assist in integration testing with hardware devices (washers/dryers and IoT systems)
• Create and maintain test documentation in Confluence
• Analyze test results and provide detailed reports to stakeholders
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and testing strategies

Required Qualifications

Must Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field
• 1-3 years of QA experience with demonstrated experience in:
• API testing (Postman or similar) and
• SQL (writing complex queries for data validation and backend testing.
• Experience in at least one of the following:
• Mobile App Testing: Experience with iOS/Android testing methodologies
• Test Automation: Hands-on experience with automation frameworks
• Tableau or similar: Creating test reports and data visualization for quality metrics
• Strong critical thinking and analytical skills with ability to:
• Design comprehensive test cases from business requirements
• Identify alternate failure scenarios and edge cases
• Think beyond happy path testing
• Proficiency with JIRA for bug tracking and test case management
• Experience with Confluence for documentation and knowledge sharing
• Understanding of software QA principles, methodologies, and best practices
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
• Willingness to learn about hardware-software integration

Nice to Haves

• Experience with test automation frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Appium)
• Knowledge of Python, Java, or C# for test automation
• Experience with embedded systems or IoT devices
