Fontis Energy, operating offshore in Mexico, seeks a QHSE Advisor to ensure QHSE policies are effectively implemented and maintained in an offshore environment, supporting drilling activities.

You will monitor compliance, conduct risk assessments, coordinate training, audits, and drive continuous safety and environmental improvements across the fleet.

Role may involve on-site/offshore support as dictated by operations and the Director of QHSE.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or a QHSE-related field.
• Minimum 5 years of QHSE or offshore operations experience.
• ISM/ISPS and ISO environmental training certificates preferred.
• Ability to coach and train teams on risk planning and hazard identification.

Responsabilidades

• Implement and maintain QHSE policies and management systems in offshore contexts.
• Develop action items with Rig Manager and review results before departure.
• Coordinate with QHSE Supervisor on offshore mandates for the unit.
• Conduct facility surveys, ISO audits, and progress reviews for safety improvements.
• Audit and communicate best practices, lessons learned with operations and fleet.
• Investigate incidents and non-conformances, providing root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Support emergency preparedness planning, drills, and response coordination.
• Organize QHSE training, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns.

JobSpecificResponsibilities

• ImplementandmaintainQHSEpolicies,procedures,andmanagementsystemsincompliancewithcompanyandregulatorystandards.
• DevelopanagendaforactionitemswiththeRigManagerpriortodepartureoffshoreandreviewresultswithRigManageraftervisit.
• CoordinatewithQHSESupervisoranyQHSEmandatesforworkoffshoreonthespecificunitthatwillbeworkingwith.
• Conductfacilitysurveys,ISMauditsandworkinprogresstoensurecontinuousimprovementinthehealthandsafetyprograms.
• EffectivelyuseandsupportallSafetyManagementprogramsemployedbytheorganization.
• Reviewrigspecificproceduresandidentifyopportunitiesforimprovement.
• Audit,identifyandcommunicatebestpractices,lessonslearned,safetyandenvironmentalertwithoperationsandthecompanyfleet.

• Ensureproperdocumentationofsafetyprocedures,workpermits,andincidentreports.
• OrganizeQHSEtrainingprograms,toolboxtalks,andawarenesscampaigns.

EnvironmentalResponsibilities:

• Monitorandassesstheenvironmentalimpactofoffshoredrillingactivities,ensuringcompliancewithenvironmentallawsandstandards.
• Developandimplementenvironmentalmanagementplans,spillresponsestrategies,andwastemanagementprograms.
• Conductenvironmentalriskassessments,includingemissions,discharges,andhazardousmaterialsmanagement.
• EnsurecompliancewiththeInternationalConventionforthePreventionofPollutionfromShips(MARPOL),OsloandParisConventionsfortheProtectionofMarineEnvironment(OSPAR),andotherenvironmentalregulationsapplicabletooffshoreoperations.
• Collectandanalyzeenvironmentalperformancedata,preparingreportsforregulatoryagenciesandinternalstakeholders.
• Providetechnicalguidanceonpollutionprevention,sustainabilityinitiatives,andresourceconservation.
• Supportoffshoreteamsinmanagingenvironmentalincidents,includingspillresponsecoordinationandreporting.

Qualifications

Preferablyabachelor'sdegree:EnvironmentalEngineeringorQHSEDegree,oranyequivalentfield.

Yearsofexperience:5years’experienceinQHSEoroperations(Offshoresupervisorylevelexperiencerequired).

CertificatesinISM/ISPSandISOenvironmentaltrainingpreferred.

Mustpossessexpertiseandknowledgeofhowtocoachpeopleintheproperplanningofworkwiththeidentificationofrisksandunsafehazards.
