Job summary

Clara is seeking a QA Automation Lead to own the test automation strategy, frameworks, and quality standards across web, API, and mobile surfaces. You will partner with Engineering Directors, pod leads, and Product to elevate automation as the default path to release confidence.

You are the technical authority for QA automation, owning the automation platform (Playwright-based web/API), CI integration, reporting, and enablement so pods can ship confidently without QA becoming a bottleneck, while

Qualifications

• 6+ years in software quality engineering with deep automation experience.
• Hands-on ownership of test automation frameworks for web and API.
• Experience designing modular, data-driven suites (Page Object patterns).
• API testing expertise and familiarity with SQL / test-data design.
• CI/CD integration experience (GitHub Actions); flaky-test management.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum or Kanban delivery and risk-based prioritization.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the automation roadmap aligned with product delivery across surfaces such as payments, onboarding, cards, and accounts.
• Own architecture decisions for shared automation frameworks and set coding standards.
• Establish org-wide definitions for release-blocking coverage and flakiness thresholds.
• Align with Engineering Directors, Pod Leads, Product, and Platform/Infra on capacity and adoption plans.
• Coach QA engineers and developers on automation craft and shared tooling.
• Drive integration of automation into GitHub Actions, reporting, and failure triage.
