A procurement management organization in Tepic, Nayarit is seeking a Director of Purchasing to oversee operations and manage supplier relationships. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management, along with at least 3 years of experience in the role within Hospitality Resorts. Key responsibilities include negotiating contracts, reviewing purchase orders, and developing purchasing strategies to align with business objectives. Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential for this role.

About the role. We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our purchasing function.

As Director of Purchasing, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall operations of the purchasing department, ensuring that all departments have adequate supplies to perform their duties efficiently and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and approve specifications for issuing and awarding bids to suppliers through RFQ / RFP process; manage procurement activities including RFP's (Request For Proposals).
  • Manage contract negotiation process, ongoing supplier oversight, to ensure cost-effective relationships with suppliers.
  • Regularly meet with vendors to negotiate improved pricing, product quality, and delivery.
  • Review and approve purchase order placement to ensure accuracy, optimum delivery, and pricing.
  • Develop strategic multi-location contracts and pricing agreements.
  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Implement and maintain effective systems to manage costing issues.
  • Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures to support business departments.
About You
  • Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field, along with a minimum 3 years' experience as Strategy Procurement Manager in Hospitality Resorts.
  • You must possess excellent communication and negotiation skills, as well as a strong understanding of customs clearance and import / export procedures.
