Job Overview

Lead and coordinate a main project according to customer requirements to ensure product development and support from the conception phase to series production. Provide production support in the production phase as an internal and external central point of contact for the purposes of a global project and product management.

Responsibilities
  • Guarantee and coordinate a time‑and‑quality oriented realization of customer change requests in the project phase (models updating and general changes) and serial production within the framework of the technical feasibility and the economic objective of the ES Segment.
  • Review the product report and drive technical cost‑down activities in regards to profit improvement according to ES segment goals.
  • Create project plans / concepts and assure they are followed (e.g. resource planning, schedule planning, cost planning, etc.) in cooperation with technical or key project leaders as well as technical areas; introduce actions in case of deviations, as required.
  • Cooperate in conducting risk analyses.
  • Develop suggestions for project organization; select suitable associates in cooperation with supervisors and define tasks, rules and interfaces.
  • Assure compliance with allocated project budget and allocate to subordinate functions (e.g. FPLs); introduce actions in case of deviations.
  • Act as interface between involved internal/external areas (e.g. main project leader, technical project leader, sub‑project leader, customer, suppliers, departments, etc.) in terms of product responsibilities, setting up and handling customer management (e.g. presentations, plant tours, etc.).
  • Assure compliance with set project indicators / goals (e.g. series earnings statement (BER), product report (PR), etc.).
  • Analyze and evaluate changes (internal/external, e.g. product information, cost evaluations, etc.) in cooperation with technical departments, cooperate in negotiations (e.g. volume and costs of changes, etc.) and assure implementation.
  • Create and check project reports and presentations, as well as project conclusion documentation.
  • Provide technical leadership for project associates.
  • Cooperate in optimizing/developing processes, systems and methods (e.g. conducting lessons learned reviews, etc.).
  • Support products in the series phase / model updates (e.g. model year change, LCI, MOPF, etc.).
  • Develop technical solutions for part changes based on customer requirements manuals.
  • Clarify technical solutions and explain these technical solutions as part of customer meetings.
  • Check technical feasibility in cooperation with technical project management.
  • Analyze change requests with regard to tools, product quality and subsequent processes.
  • Prepare / evaluate and release information for the analysis of cost effects.
  • Assure that there is current data in the internal DRX digital drawing archive and the CAD databases that are linked with the customer; act as contact person in case of inconsistencies.
  • Transfer series products into the spare parts service (e.g. excesses, transfers, standard parts, etc.).
  • Support the purchasing department in controlling changes and selecting suppliers.
  • Determine and coordinate project costs with managers, monitor cost compliance in all technical departments.
  • Promote problem solving, set priorities and make sustainable decisions in collaboration with departments and coordination with supervisors.
  • Assure compliance with defined escalation levels in case of target/actual deviations.
  • Process work packages according to SEP (analysis of concepts and scenarios).
  • Hand over the project to series production (or representatives from series production); conduct series support in the sense of technical product responsibility, as a contact person for product‑specific matters.
Qualifications
  • Specialist Knowledge/education: Bachelor's Degree
  • Work experience: Automotive industry, Project Management 2‑3 years
  • English: Advanced Level
