Job summary

Blacksmith Agency is seeking a senior Product Design Systems Designer to own how client design systems are built. You will extract patterns from brands and reference sites into a robust system of tokens, variables, modes, and components that a build pipeline can execute without questions.

This is a senior, systems-first role focusing on fast, correct system setup across multiple client brands. Strong English and overlapping US business hours are required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years designing for the web with real design system work in your portfolio.
• Fluency in Figma variables, component properties, auto layout, and variants; architecture, not just tidy files.
• A portfolio showing consistent design language across client work with rigorous execution.
• Strong English and overlap with US business hours.

Responsibilities

• Build token architecture in Figma using variables, modes, and semantic naming.
• Ship core component libraries that hold up across an entire site and multiple brands.

This is a senior, systems-first seat. Not one-off pages, not maintenance. You stand up new systems fast and get them right the first time, across several client brands at once.

• Document the system so a developer or an automated pipeline can execute it without questions.
• Work across several client brands at once, each looking distinctly different, with the same structural rigor.
