Vertiv in Tijuana, MX, seeks a Product Safety Compliance professional to lead US and North American safety certifications for the Chilled Water business, guiding R&D and engineering to meet UL, CSA, NEC and related standards.

You will coordinate certification planning, maintain regulatory documentation, translate requirements into practical design inputs, and stay updated on evolving standards to keep projects on track.

Formación

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or directly related Engineering discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of US and North American product safety requirements and certification frameworks, including UL, CSA, cUL, NEC, NFPA, and related local regulations.
  • Awareness of international compliance frameworks such as IEC, CE, CCC, and the EU regulation is a plus for global alignment.
  • Ability to oversee regional product compliance activities and support navigation of local certification requirements.
  • Basic working knowledge of mechanical and thermal systems preferred.
  • Strong planning, organization, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Experience in Compliance Engineering and in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test reports.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of cross-functional global development teams in a fast-paced environment.

Responsabilidades

  • Oversee US and local product certifications throughout the product lifecycle, from development through sustaining activities.
  • Support and guide shared-resource R&D compliance engineers on compliance-related tasks and deliverables.
  • Assist R&D and product engineers by interpreting regulatory clauses and translating them into practical design and testing inputs.
  • Support product release readiness by confirming that required compliance evidence, documentation, and certification activities are complete.
  • Develop, review, and standardize relevant test plans and test reports.
  • Prepare budgetary and resource inputs for certification-related activities.
  • Maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with internal teams, test laboratories, certification bodies, and external stakeholders.
  • Use relevant information, experience, and professional judgment to assess whether products, events, or processes comply with applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Participate in, or follow, relevant standards and regulatory committees to help ensure that Liquid Cooling Business objectives are represented.

Job Description

This role reports directly to the Global Compliance & Sustainability Senior Manager for CW Systems. The position supports Product Compliance activities within the CW Product Line (PL), while collaborating cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Product Management, regional stakeholders, and external certification bodies.


Scope


  • Lead US product safety compliance activities for the Chilled Water business, including NPDI and sustaining projects.

  • Act as the regional regulatory reference for US and North American safety requirements, supporting product design decisions and certification readiness.

  • Help ensure that product certifications remain current and that local compliance deliverables are completed in line with project milestones

  • Coordinate and maintain product compliance documentation for US and North American regulatory requirements, with alignment to global CW Product Line processes.

  • Support certification planning, submissions, test plan/test report review, and product release readiness with R&D, Engineering, Product Management, and Quality teams.

  • Translate applicable regulatory and standard requirements into practical guidance for product and R&D engineers.

  • Monitor relevant regulatory and standards updates and prepare concise summaries of potential product or process impacts.
