The Procurement Manager will lead a dynamic purchasing team with a strategic focus on cost reduction, on-time delivery, and adherence to high-quality standards.
This role is critical in supporting both manufacturing and R D functions by streamlining procurement processes, building strong supplier relationships, and driving innovation in sourcing strategies.
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership Development Lead, coach, and develop a cross-functional, high-performing Purchasing team.
- Supervise Buyer Planners, providing direction and performance management.
- Strategic Procurement Vendor Management Streamline and standardize purchasing procedures to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Procure high-value and long-lead-time materials to support operational and project-based requirements.
- Identify and onboard new suppliers to meet evolving R D and operational needs.
- Negotiate vendor contracts to secure optimal pricing, lead times, and service levels.
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure quality and delivery reliability.
- Implement supplier performance metrics to track and enhance vendor effectiveness.
- Operations Inventory Management Conduct daily Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) to support production schedules.
- Monitor and expedite open purchase orders, resolving delays and quality issues promptly.
- Support cost reduction, process improvement, and inventory optimization initiatives.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, including part numbers, reorder points, and standard costs within the ERP system.
- Investigate inventory variances and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with Finance to align procurement activities with budget objectives.
- Sustainability Innovation Champion sustainable procurement practices to reduce environmental impact.
- Leverage data analytics to forecast demand and refine procurement planning.
- Contribute to the company's innovation strategy by identifying new materials, technologies, or partners.
Qualifications
- Experience Background Minimum 10 years in procurement (mandatory)
- Preferred : Experience in a manufacturing or R D-driven environment
- Proven success in cost-saving, supplier management, and procurement strategy
- Familiar with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement
- ERP systems proficiency (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.)
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel, Outlook)
- Experience supervising Buyer Planners
- Strategic Procurement Vendor Management
- Skilled in strategic sourcing, supplier onboarding, and vendor negotiations
- Ability to streamline and standardize purchasing procedures
- Experience managing long-lead-time and high-value materials
- Proven ability to develop and track supplier performance metrics
- Operations Inventory Control
- Strong grasp of Materials Requirement Planning (MRP)
- Inventory optimization, cost reduction, and waste minimization experience
