A leading engineering and manufacturing company seeks an experienced Electronics Engineer to develop test solutions and proposals, manage projects, and provide crisis support. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering and over 8 years of experience. Candidates should possess strong problem-solving, programming, and communication skills. SUMMARY

Continuously works to improve core competency, develops test solution proposals, develops test solutions, and provides test crisis support. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining results.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Development of test solution proposals
    • Include price commitment, schedule commitment, preliminary test specification, hardware and software descriptions, documentation package description, tester validation criteria, support requirements, and required customer deliverables.
    • Use the GTS on-line Request For Quote (RFQ) form and quote tracking tools and systems.
    • Adhere to GTS RFQ responsiveness requirements.
    • Use GTS Functional Verification Test (FVT) proposal templates (quote form, test plan form).
    • Complete proposals on‑schedule.
  • Development of test solutions
    • Develop test specifications and solutions on projects of low to high complexity according to budget and schedule commitments.
    • Tasks may include Design For Test (DFT), design, assembly, debug, validation, deployment, and emergency support of electrical, mechanical, optical hardware, and software.
    • Electrical hardware: GPIB and RS‑232 controlled equipment, VXI based test equipment, custom circuitry.
    • Mechanical hardware: Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) chamber racks, bench‑test setups, 19” equipment racks, custom automated fixtures.
    • Software and compilers: LabWindows/CVI, LabView, TestStand, ANSI C, Visual C++, Visual Basic, assembly for microcontrollers, HTML, PERL, ASP.
    • Use GTS tools and systems for test development, project tracking, design reviews, and documentation templates.
  • Test Crisis Support
    • Support the GTS Hotline.
    • Provide special support requests as needed.
  • Continuous improvement of core competency
    • Participate in the GTS core competency improvement program.
    • Help improve GTS tools and systems.
    • Drive vendors and customers to improve products and services.
    • Learn to solve problems outside areas of past proficiency.
  • Industry recognition
    • Active membership in two industry recognized professional organizations.
    • Published articles in at least one recognized professional industry magazine, periodical, journal, or website.
    • Speak at a minimum of one industry recognized seminar, conference, or consortium.
  • Jabil policies
    • Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position.
    • Comply with all procedures within the company security policy.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelors of Science degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering from a four‑year college or university is required. Masters of Science preferred. More than eight years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with concepts such as probability and statistical inference, plane and solid geometry, and trigonometry. Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and manage various abstract and concrete variables.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Frequent walking and lifting of PC’s and test equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. Requires close vision and frequent use of computer monitor screens.

TRAVEL

Travel may be required for customer support, training, test solution deployment, or other business goals, including international travel.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Primary workstation located in an office area with some time spent on the manufacturing floor. Noise level ranges from low to moderate.
