Pyramid Consulting, Inc. is seeking an experienced PostgreSQL Database Administrator to support enterprise PostgreSQL infrastructure hosted on AWS.

This hands-on role focuses on production support, troubleshooting, performance tuning, migrations, and collaborating with application teams. The ideal candidate will administer PostgreSQL, AWS RDS PostgreSQL, and Aurora PostgreSQL across environments, monitor health with CloudWatch, and lead upgrades and change management, while maintaining solid

Formación

• Experience with AWS DMS and migrations.
• Strong understanding of PostgreSQL architecture: WAL, MVCC, autovacuum, replication, partitions.
• Linux/Unix administration and Shell scripting.
• Solid SQL and PL/pgSQL expertise.
• Experience with production incident management and change processes.

Responsabilidades

• Administer PostgreSQL, AWS RDS PostgreSQL, and Aurora PostgreSQL across multiple environments.
• Troubleshoot database performance issues, connectivity problems, replication failures, and production incidents.
• Support AWS DMS migrations, including task failures, CDC lag, table errors, and cutover activities.
• Manage PostgreSQL replication, replication slots, WAL, schemas, roles, users, and privileges.
• Monitor database health using CloudWatch, dashboards, metrics, logs, and alarms.
• Deploy and manage database infrastructure using AWS CloudFormation.
• Perform PostgreSQL query and performance tuning using execution plans and parameter optimization.
• Support Linux-based DBA operations, including log analysis and shell scripting.
• Perform PostgreSQL/Aurora version upgrades, including pre-upgrade assessments, backups, validation, and post-upgrade monitoring.
• Manage incidents and change requests through ITSM/CAB processes.
• Maintain database documentation, operational procedures, and troubleshooting runbooks.
