Aptiv is seeking a seasoned Plant Quality Manager in Chihuahua to lead the quality function at the site, champion a culture of quality, and ensure processes meet customer and internal standards. The role grants authority to halt production to prevent non-conforming product from reaching customers.

Responsibilities include leading quality improvements, KPIs, supplier collaboration, and deployment of core quality tools across manufacturing operations.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience as an automotive plant quality manager
  • Experience leading problem-solving activities and applying quality tools (8D, SPC, MSA, FMEA, etc.).
  • Strong understanding and experience with Quality Management Systems (IATF 16949) and customer specific requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interface with customers and internal teams.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple customer requirements, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • 100% fluency in business English is required
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
  • Proficiency in quality-related software and tools (e.g., Minitab, statistical analysis software)
  • Other desirable qualifications: Toyota Production System (TPS) or Lean, or WCM, IATF Lead Auditor, VDA 6.3 Quality Auditor

Responsabilidades

  • Lead and manage the entire quality function at the plant level, guiding the team to meet all internal and external quality processes and procedures.
  • Manage all departmental resources to ensure the team has the adequate capacity and capability to meet business needs and quality standards.
  • Guide, coach, and hold the quality team accountable for their performance, fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
  • Set and manage departmental objectives and KPIs for the quality team, reporting on performance and identifying required actions to achieve targets.
  • Lead plant activities to achieve excellence towards VOC, Customer Scorecards, Cost of Poor Quality and Warranty Management.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards, documentation, and procedures across all manufacturing operations.
  • Chair regular quality review meetings with representatives from appropriate departments to analyze metrics and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all quality activities are conducted in compliance with established health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Serve as the first point of escalation for all customer quality issues and drive rapid responses.
  • Champion and drive a culture of continuous quality improvement across the entire plant.
  • Oversee problem-solving activities using the 8D process to perform root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Supplier Quality Assurance to reduce impact of non-conforming supplier materials.
  • Oversee deployment of PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, PCP, and SPC quality processes and tools.
  • Conduct risk assessments of processes to mitigate quality issues.

Your Role

We are seeking a seasoned and decisive Plant Quality Manager to lead our quality operations. This leadership role is responsible for driving a culture of quality, ensuring our products meet the highest standards, and acting as the primary point of contact for all quality-related matters. You will be a key leader in ensuring both process excellence and customer satisfaction.


Crucially, this role carries the authority to halt production or shipping processes as necessary to prevent non-conforming product from reaching our customers, thereby protecting the company's integrity and brand reputation.


ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Quality Leadership & Management



  • Lead and manage the entire quality function at the plant level, guiding the team to meet all internal and external quality processes and procedures.

  • Manage all departmental resources to ensure the team has the adequate capacity and capability to meet business needs and quality standards.

  • Guide, coach, and hold the quality team accountable for their performance, fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.

  • Set and manage departmental objectives and KPIs for the quality team, reporting on performance and identifying required actions to achieve targets.

  • Lead plant activities to achieve excellence towards VOC, Customer Scorecards, Cost of Poor Quality and Warranty Management.

Process & Customer Quality



  • Serve as the first point of escalation for all customer quality issues, acting as the primary liaison between the plant and the customer to ensure a rapid and effective response.

  • Champion and drive a culture of continuous quality improvement across the entire plant.

  • Oversee all problem-solving activities, utilizing structured methodologies like the 8D process to perform root cause analysis and implement robust corrective actions.

  • Collaborate with the Supplier Quality Assurance function to effectively reduce the impact of non-conforming supplier materials on production quality.

  • Oversee and support the deployment of core quality processes and tools, including PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, PCP, and SPC.

  • Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks to proactively identify and mitigate potential quality issues.


Your Background


  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
