Job summary

Mann + Hummel, Inc. seeks a Plant Controller to partner with the Plant Manager and leadership, driving financial transparency, cost competitiveness, and profitable growth across the production site in Mexico.

You will manage financial reporting, governance, and decision-support to improve profitability and cash generation. You will own month-end close, budgeting, and forecasting, lead cost accounting and inventory valuation, and collaborate with operations to meet targets in a matrix

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in plant controlling, operations controlling, or manufacturing finance.
• SAP experience required; Power BI experience preferred.
• Fluent in English; strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as trusted finance partner to plant leadership and support operational decision-making.
• Translate operational KPIs into financial impact and drive actions to improve profitability, productivity, inventory performance, and cash generation.
• Support business cases, investments, and cost improvement initiatives across the plant.
• Own month-end closing, reporting, variance analysis, forecasting, and budgeting for the plant within the Maquiladora entity.
• Participate in daily/weekly SQDC meetings and drive ownership to meet financial targets.
• Lead cost controlling activities including product costing, standard costing, and profitability analysis.
• Identify risks and opportunities, define corrective actions, and monitor execution with operations leadership.
• Ensure timely and transparent reporting of financial and operational performance indicators.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and financial reporting standards.

Role Summary

The Plant Controller acts as the key finance business partner to the Plant Manager and leadership team, driving financial transparency, operational performance, and cost competitiveness.

The role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong financial governance, effective cost management, and profitable growth while supporting operational decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.

Main Tasks

Strategic Business Partner

• Act as trusted finance partner to plant leadership and support operational decision-making.
• Translate operational KPIs into financial impact and drive actions to improve profitability, productivity, inventory performance, and cash generation.
• Support business cases, investments, and cost improvement initiatives across the plant.

Plant Controlling & Performance Management

• Own month-end closing, reporting, variance analysis, forecasting, and budgeting processes for the plant which is part of Maquiladora legal entity.
• Actively participate in the daily/weekly SQDC meetings with the plant team and drive the commitment and ownership culture to meet the financial targets.
• Lead cost controlling activities including product costing, standard costing, inventory valuation, cost center controlling, and profitability analysis.
• Identify risks and opportunities, define corrective actions, and monitor execution together with operations leadership.
• Ensure timely and transparent reporting of financial and operational performance indicators.

Governance & Controls

• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and financial reporting standards.
• Safeguard company assets through strong controls in inventory, costing, and capital expenditure processes.
• Support audits and proactively manage operational and financial risks.

Your Profile

Education

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience

• 7+ years of experience in plant controlling, operations controlling, or manufacturing finance.
• Strong expertise in cost accounting, product costing, inventory management, and financial analysis.
• Experience partnering with manufacturing and operations leadership in a matrix organization.
• SAP experience required; Power BI experience preferred.
