GE Aerospace is seeking an engineering MSc student to join the Performance Engineering team within the Aeroderivative Engine Operations department. You will learn thermodynamics and fluid dynamics as you analyze LM2500 engine health under varying conditions and stages of development.

Candidates should be enrolled in a MSc program, with background in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Mechatronics or Energy engineering, and experience in C++, NPSS, Python, and AI tools.

Formación

  • Currently enrolled in an Engineering MSc, either recently enrolled in a master program or at least 6 months prior graduation.
  • Candidates with background in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Mechatronics, Energy engineering or similar are welcome to apply.
  • Experience with thermodynamics and fluid dynamics.
  • Experience with C++, NPSS, python or similar computational language.
  • Familiar with AI tools.

Responsabilidades

  • Translate users' needs into the definition of a system, its architecture and design through an iterative process.
  • Perform parametric studies regarding the interaction of engine components.
  • Broaden knowledge of technical discipline to execute policy/strategy.
  • May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework.
  • Resolve issues requiring technical knowledge within established procedures.
  • Use statistical tools to provide answers.
  • Look for creative solutions and improve quality and response time of work.
  • Consult senior team members for issues outside defined instructions/parameters.
  • Present and substantiate results to senior leadership.

Job Description Summary

The Performance Engineering team, within the Aeroderivative Engine Operations department, is looking for an engineering student with passion for technology development to help the team accomplish 2026 commitments. On this job you will be learning essential knowledge about thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and its application when analyzing the health of an aero derivative engine LM2500 under different conditions and stages of its development

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Will execute Conceptual or theoretical activities related to translating users' needs into the definition of a system, its architecture and design through an iterative process that results in an effective operational system and demands an interdisciplinary approach.
  • Performs parametric studies regarding the interaction of the different component of the engine.
  • Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy.
  • May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework.
  • Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures.
  • Makes use of statistical tools to provide answers.
  • Looks for creative solutions and constantly finds ways to improve on the quality and response time of his work.
  • Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
  • Present and substantiate results from his/her own work to senior leadership and direct manage.
