Corning Inc. is seeking an NPI Engineer II to lead new product introduction initiatives and support transitions from development to manufacturing.

You will collaborate with Product Development, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure launches meet quality, cost, and performance targets. The role requires strong project management, problem-solving, and communication skills, plus experience with CAD tools.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline ( Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial, Manufacturing, Materials, Optical, Telecommunications or related ).
  • 2+ years of experience in New Product Introduction, Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, or similar roles.
  • Experience supporting product launches, technology transfers, or manufacturing implementation projects.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical tools and methodologies such as SPC, MSA, process capability studies, and root cause analysis.
  • Experience using Minitab or equivalent statistical analysis software.
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Advanced English proficiency (written and verbal).
  • Experience with DOE, FMEA, Lean Manufacturing, and Design for Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience in telecommunications, optical connectivity, or high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of CAD systems such as SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD, or CATIA.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) projects and product transfers from concept through production release.
  • Translate product requirements into manufacturing processes and control plans.
  • Plan and execute product and process qualifications and analyze data.
  • Develop, maintain, and control manufacturing documentation and change records.
  • Coordinate tooling, fixtures, test equipment, and training for product introduction.
  • Lead root cause investigations using structured problem-solving methodologies and statistical tools.
  • Manage project deliverables, timelines, risks, and stakeholder communications.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, development teams, manufacturing and quality organizations.
  • Drive Lean, Six Sigma, and DMAIC initiatives to improve manufacturing performance.
  • Promote compliance, documentation discipline, and safe manufacturing practices.

What is your role?

As an NPI Engineer II, you will lead new product introduction initiatives and support the transition of products from development to manufacturing. You will work closely with Product Development, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to ensure products are successfully launched, qualified, and released to production while meeting quality, cost, and performance expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) projects and product transfers from concept through production release, ensuring manufacturing readiness, successful qualification, and production stabilization.
  • Translate product requirements into manufacturing processes, acceptance criteria, and production controls while supporting design-for-manufacturability and scalability initiatives.
  • Plan and execute product and process qualifications, analyze data using statistical methods, and provide technical recommendations to support launch decisions and product changes.
  • Develop, maintain, and control manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, specifications, control plans, technical reports, and change management records.
  • Coordinate tooling, fixtures, test equipment, automation, and training activities required for successful product introduction and implementation.
  • Lead and support root cause investigations using structured problem-solving methodologies and statistical tools to improve quality, yield, reliability, and manufacturing performance.
  • Manage project deliverables, timelines, risks, and stakeholder communications while providing technical leadership throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, development teams, manufacturing, and quality organizations to ensure technical requirements, readiness activities, and project objectives are achieved.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, cost, capacity, lead time, and manufacturability through Lean, Six Sigma, and DMAIC methodologies.
  • Promote compliance, standardization, documentation discipline, knowledge sharing, and safe manufacturing practices across product launches and ongoing operations.
Experiences/Education - Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial, Manufacturing, Materials, Optical, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in New Product Introduction, Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, or similar roles.
