Job summary

Montage Laguna Beach is seeking a server to deliver exceptional guest experiences in a luxury hotel setting. You will assist with menu selections, hospitality, and dining operations, ensuring timely service and guest satisfaction.

The role emphasizes teamwork, flexible scheduling, and professionalism across shifts. Ideal candidates bring at least 1 year in food & beverage, familiarity with Micros, and a passion for hospitality.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in food & beverage operations.
• Prior Micros or other systems experience is a plus.
• Luxury hotel experience is a plus.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Collaborate effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure food and beverages are served professionally and timely.
• Assist guests with menu selections and dietary inquiries.
• Take orders accurately and communicate modifications to the kitchen.
• Anticipate guest needs and upsell menu items.
• Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction and address concerns.
• Promote specials and menu items to enhance the dining experience.
• Adhere to cleaning and safety standards.
• Attend daily pre-shift meetings.
• Follow the service sequence with attention to detail.
• Deliver WOW moments and take on additional duties as needed.

Your Journey

• En sure food and beverages are being served in a professional and timely manner
• Assist guests with menu selections, providing recommendations and answering questions about ingredients, preparation methods, and dietary restrictions.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring special requests or modifications are recorded and communicated to the kitchen staff.
• Anticipate guest needs throughout the meal service, such as refilling drinks, clearing empty plates, and offering dessert or coffee options.
• Check in with guests periodically to ensure satisfaction with their meals and address any concerns or issues promptly.
• Promote menu items, specials, and promotions to guests, using suggestive selling techniques to increase sales and enhance the dining experience.
• Adhere to all cleaning and safety standards
• Attend daily pre-shift meeting
• Consistently follow the f ood & b everage sequence of service with the utmost attention to detail
• Deliver on guests' expectations and have the desire to create WOW moments
• Perform additional duties as assigned that may be outside of the normal scope of duties, based on business needs

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and exercise mobility for extended periods of time during your scheduled shift
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and for extended periods during the shift
• Ability to push and pull food serving equipment and carts weighing up to 200 pounds on a semi - regular basis
