The Bosch Group, Inc. in Mexicali seeks a Tooling Design Engineer to drive engineering documentation for tooling projects.

You will create drawings, specify materials, and perform DFM validation after fabrication, while supporting tool makers with tolerances and machining instructions. Essentially, you bring 5+ years in tooling or design, GD&T and SolidWorks expertise, and a hands-on ability to lead tooling development for manufacturing improvements.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical/Mechatronic/Industrial).
• 5+ years in tooling or design roles with manufacturing exposure.
• Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance analysis required.

Responsabilidades

• Design development for tool room requirements including drawing and material specs.
• Provide tooling drawings, DFM validation and QC support post-fabrication.
• Assist tool makers on tolerances and machining processes (CNC, Lathe, Milling).
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineering on tooling for process improvements.
• Lead 5S in the tool room and provide training as needed.

Tooling Design Engineer

**POSITION SUMMARY** Tooling Design Engineer, focus on engineering documentation development (Materials, Drawing, performance).
**ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Design development for requirements of tool room. This will include drawing, materials, DFM analysis and validation after the fabrication process.
+ Support for tool makers on any tolerance or specifications of the drawing.
+ Support for tool makers on machining process (CNC, Lathe, Milling Machines, Surface grinder).
+ Support for Manufacturing Engineering on tooling development for manufacturing improvements (Fixtures, gauges, mechanism, Poka-yoke, etc.).
+ Work with Sr. Planner for performance evaluation in Tool Room.
+ 5's management in tool room. Support and training for tool makers.

**SKILLS**
+ Proficient in English >80%
+ Design For Manufacturing skills are preferred
+ Strong analytical skills to identify solutions to technical issues, risks and prepare balanced decisions are essential
+ Ability to manage multiple projects and project deadlines and work independently
+ Great hands-on ability and mechanical aptitude and experience in machine shop and hands on fabrication
+ High experience using 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) software
+ Strong knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and performing statistical tolerance analysis.
**EXPERIENCE:**
**Essential:**
+ 5 + years' experience in tooling or design positions.
+ Lean Manufacturing Knowledge.
+ GD&T High Knowledge.
+ Solidworks High Knowledge.
+ Pro-actively resolving critical design, manufacturing, quality and reliability issues
**Desirable:**
+ Power BI Knowledge.
+ Project management experience.
**EDUCATION:**
**Essential:**
+ Bachelor's Engineering degree. (Mechanical, Mechatronic, Industrial)
**Desirable:**
+ Project Management Certification.
