A global aerospace company in Mexicali is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer I to develop and validate Code 3 Models based on 2D drawings. The ideal candidate will have strong CAD knowledge in Siemens NX, CATIA, or SolidWorks, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field. Responsibilities include creating detailed drawings for manufacturing and collaborating with cross-functional teams. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative aerospace projects in a dynamic environment.

Formación

Position Summary

Supplier Readiness Engines Design Engineering has an opening for a Mechanical Design Engineer I. This position will focus most of the time on developing and validating Code 3 Models based on 2D drawings from legacy programs, however, will also be supporting C2HO, with the purpose of searching the second source of supplier, better deliveries, and quality parts. Value stream supporting will be Engines, however, will also be supporting Power Systems, Mechanical Air & thermal value streams.

It is desired that the applicant has strong knowledge of aerospace products, manufacturing processes, and CAD, preferably Siemens NX and CATIA or Solid Works CAD software which will be used to modify / create 3D models / drawings. Knowledge of GD&T and aerospace drawing interpretation is a must, as well as the knowledge to perform stack‑up analysis.

The scope of this position includes utilizing state‑of‑the‑art software tools and methods and supporting Technical Improvement Teams to capture the product design intent and use of best practices and guidelines. Mechanical Design Engineer working with the different value streams for modeling and drawing activities, including C2HO.

Responsible for the designs and details of the hardware.

Requires extensive interaction with manufacturing shops, tool room, project engineering, design integration, materials, and analysis engineering to ensure all requirements are met.

Requires individuals to develop design concepts, 3D models, and detailed drawings for manufacturing.

The individual is expected to conduct design reviews and produce documentation of most design activities within Honeywell policies and procedures.

Applicants should be experienced in establishing and/or working in a cross‑functional team environment.

Required Qualifications
  • CAD knowledge NX, CATIA V, SolidWorks (or similar), Model Base Design is a plus.
  • Knowledge in 2D Drafting and 3D modeling activities.
  • Knowledge of ASME Y14.5M Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).
  • Technical, analytical, organizational, problem‑solving, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of Product Data Structures in a CAD environment (i.e. Teamcenter).

Experience / Education
  • Knowledge of aerospace product design / manufacturing.
  • BS Mechanical Engineering degree preferred or technically similar (Industrial, Aerospace).
