Mars is seeking a LATAM Statutory Transformation Lead based in Mexico to drive statutory reporting, local GAAP and IFRS compliance across LATAM within a global SAP S/4HANA transformation.

You will partner with Finance, Tax, IT and Shared Services to design, test and deploy compliant reporting processes using SAP DRC, ONESOURCE or similar tools, lead UAT, and ensure multi-country alignment while addressing country specifics.

Formación

• 8+ years of experience in statutory reporting, financial accounting, controllership, or external reporting.
• Strong knowledge of statutory reporting requirements and local GAAP regulations across LATAM countries.
• Deep understanding of IFRS and local statutory accounting requirements.
• Experience supporting SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA Finance transformation programs.
• Experience with statutory reporting technologies such as SAP DRC, ONESOURCE Statutory Reporting, Workiva, CCH Tagetik, BlackLine, or similar solutions.

Job Description:

The Mars Statutory Transformation LATAM Lead is responsible for leading statutory financial reporting, local regulatory compliance, and statutory reporting requirements across Latin America as part of a global SAP S/4HANA transformation program. The role serves as the primary Finance and Controllership Subject Matter Expert for LATAM statutory reporting requirements, ensuring local GAAP, IFRS, financial statement, disclosure, and regulatory reporting obligations are incorporated into the SAP S/4HANA global template. The individual partners with the Finance, Tax, IT, Shared Services, and System Integrators to design, test, and deploy compliant statutory reporting processes and technologies (e.g. SAP DRC or other statutory compliance solutions).

What are we Looking For?

• 8+ years of experience in statutory reporting, financial accounting, controllership, or external reporting.
• Strong knowledge of statutory reporting requirements and local GAAP regulations across LATAM countries.
• Deep understanding of IFRS and local statutory accounting requirements.

• Strong understanding of Record-to-Report (R2R), financial close, consolidation, and external reporting processes.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Universal Journal, parallel ledgers, multi-GAAP reporting, and financial reporting architecture.
• Experience in Fixed Assets in SAP.
• Proven experience defining business requirements and leading statutory reporting testing and deployment activities.
• Experience supporting multi-country LATAM deployments within a global template framework.
• Familiarity with complex regulatory environments across countries such as Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, and Peru.
• Strong stakeholder management skills across Finance, Controllership, Tax, IT, Shared Services, auditors, and implementation partners.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA, CA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification preferred.
• Preferred SAP S/4HANA Transformation Experience:
  • Led statutory reporting workstreams for LATAM SAP S/4HANA deployments.
  • Defined statutory reporting requirements across multiple LATAM countries.
  • Designed statutory reporting solutions leveraging SAP S/4HANA Universal Journal, parallel ledgers, and financial statement versions.
  • Implemented SAP DRC, ONESOURCE Statutory Reporting, or similar compliance reporting technologies.
  • Defined requirements for local statutory financial statements, disclosures, trial balances, and regulatory reporting obligations.
  • Led statutory reporting UAT, defect management, cutover planning, deployment readiness, and hypercare support.
  • Collaborated with Regional Controllers, Global Process Owners, Tax, and System Integrators throughout the transformation lifecycle.
  • Supported audit readiness, financial compliance, and external audit requirements during deployment and steady-state operations.
  • Balanced global template adoption with country-specific statutory reporting requirements and compliance obligations.

What are the Key Responsibilities?

• Lead the LATAM statutory reporting workstream for SAP S/4HANA design, build, testing, and deployment activities.
• Serve as the primary SME for statutory financial reporting requirements across LATAM jurisdictions.
• Define and validate local statutory reporting, financial statement, disclosure, and regulatory filing requirements.
• Ensure LATAM statutory requirements are incorporated into the global S/4HANA template while balancing standardization and country compliance needs.
• Partner with Finance, Controllership, R2R, Consolidation, Tax, and Shared Services teams to align statutory reporting requirements.
• Define reporting requirements related to legal entities, charts of accounts, ledgers, account mappings, statutory adjustments, and financial statement structures.
• Lead requirements and design reviews for SAP DRC, ONESOURCE Statutory Reporting, and other compliance reporting solutions.
• Support finance design decisions involving parallel accounting, local GAAP adjustments, legal entity reporting, and reporting hierarchies.
• Establish statutory reporting controls, governance standards, and compliance monitoring procedures.
• Monitor changes in accounting standards and regulatory reporting requirements across LATAM countries and assess impacts to processes and systems.
• Lead statutory reporting testing, defect management, business validation, and deployment sign-off activities.
• Support deployment readiness, cutover planning, hypercare, and post-go-live stabilization activities.
• Collaborate with local country finance teams to ensure regulatory and statutory obligations are appropriately addressed.

• User Acceptance Testing (UAT) plans, scripts, execution results, and defect resolution tracking.
• Country-specific statutory reporting readiness assessments and deployment approvals.
• Executive reporting on statutory compliance readiness, risks, key decisions, and deployment progress.
• Go-live readiness plans, hypercare support procedures, and stabilization activities.
• Knowledge transfer materials and operational support documentation.
