Intuitive Surgical Mexicali site seeks an experienced Manufacturing Equipment Engineer (P1) to evaluate, test, and qualify manufacturing equipment. You will diagnose electromechanical systems, assist with maintenance, and support production through documentation and part sourcing.

The role requires a Bachelor in Mechanical or Electronics Engineering, good English, and willingness to travel. Candidates with SolidWorks, PLCs, and vision systems experience are preferred.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Intermediate English proficiency (70%).
• Experience troubleshooting complex electromechanical equipment.

Responsabilidades

• Assemble and test manufacturing equipment for qualification.
• Perform qualification and validation on manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshoot electromechanical systems including motion, pneumatics, electronics, PLCs or computer-based systems.
• Maintain and startup equipment as applicable.
• Relocate and install manufacturing equipment per documentation.
• Conduct LOTO activities and safety procedures.
• Train and support PMC personnel in Preventive Maintenance Instructions.
• Document equipment events with no impact to product assembly.
• Procure replacement parts and equipment as needed.
• Provide equipment-related technical support to production operations.

Job Description

Primary Function of Position:
Equipment engineers may evaluate, inspect, maintain, repair, design, analyze and
improve various types of equipment, including electronic and mechanical
equipment. EE may have to work in different areas, such as electrical, mechanical
or computer engineering.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Assemble, bring up, and test manufacturing equipment in preparation for successful qualification and operation
• Perform qualification and validation on manufacturing equipment according to company procedures
• Troubleshooting of electromechanical systems that include motion, pneumatics, electronics systems, PLC or Computer based
• Execute maintenance and startup of equipment when applicable
• Relocate and Install manufacturing equipment according to manufacturers and qualification documentation
• Perform LOTO activities
• Train and Support PMC personal in Preventive Maintenance Instructions
• Document Equipment Events with no impact to product assembled
• Purchase of replacement spare parts, equipment, components
• Provide equipment-related technical support to on-going production operations.
• Document and close Equipment Downtime notifications
• Report equipment findings during troubleshooting example 4 blocker

Qualifications

Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or similar.
• Good analytical and problem solving skills.
• English intermediate professional level (70%), read and write
• Machining experience a plus.
• Demonstrated mechanical electronics aptitude.
• Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting complex electronic/mechanical equipment.
• Blueprint reading and interpretation is a must.
• Knowledge and experience in use of special mechanical, electronics and measuring equipment.
• PLC programming, vision systems experience.
• 3D CAD proficiency, SolidWorks preferred.
• Previous experience Maintenance software database preferable.
• Experience in Maintenance, Manufacturing, Equipment Engineering, Test, Automation , Tooling, Mechatronic Engineering or similar.
• Able to travel periodically
