Overview

The Amazon Mexico Retail team is seeking an experienced, data-driven Manager of Vendor Managers (MVM) to help us lead the Softlines category. As the MVM, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of Softlines categories like Apparel. The ideal candidate is a passionate customer and category manager, with proven analytical capabilities, attention to detail, ability to effectively prioritize, and lead a team. The MVM must be an effective negotiator, leader, and communicator working with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams as well as vendors and brands. The MVM must be a self-starter with a passion for retail, a high level of flexibility, and result-oriented.

Responsibilities
  • Setting goals, developing strategy, and ensuring alignment with broader business objectives
  • Negotiating direct relationships with top apparel brands to expand our product selection
  • Onboarding new vendors and brands to drive category growth
  • Partnering cross-functionally to deliver an exceptional customer experience that drives sales and profitability
  • Leading a high-performing team of vendor managers to achieve ambitious top and bottom-line goals
A day in the life
  • The MVM owns sales growth as well as profitability improvement. To achieve that, MVM works with internal teams including Finance, Supply Chain, and Marketing to drive the category strategy.
  • The MVM audits the inputs such as selection, price, inventory, traffic, customer experience, to find opportunities and lead the Vendor Management and Brand Specialist team to address such opportunities.
  • The MVM reports performance of the category through the use of data, and sets the strategic roadmap for growth.

  • 8+ years of account management, project or program management or buying experience
  • Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion or inventory management
  • Experience of managing and developing a high performance team
  • Bachelor's degree or certificate of completion of studies required plus at least 10 years of professional background
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish
  • SQL knowledge and experience in e-commerce
