The Role
As an Engineering Manager, you will lead multiple local squads of software engineers and SDETs, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions. You will be responsible for maintaining the technical backlog, working with product managers to build the roadmap, and scheduling releases. Additionally, you will create development and growth plans for engineers, participate in business case development for new projects, and maintain reporting of delivery status and timelines. This role operates in a fast-paced environment with a focus on high quality and on-time delivery.

What You’ll Do

  • Maintain the technical backlog and prioritize tasks for the squad
  • Collaborate with product managers to build and refine the roadmap
  • Schedule and oversee software releases
  • Create and implement development and growth plans for engineers
  • Participate in business case development for new projects
  • Maintain accurate reporting of delivery status and timelines
  • Lead technical discussions and provide strategic direction
  • Ensure the implementation of best practices in coding, testing, and deployment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver product features and improvements
  • Mentor and support junior engineers in the squad
  • Utilize Jira for task management and tracking
  • Work within a Scrum team to follow Agile methodologies
  • Adhere to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes

What You’ll Bring

  • 8+ years of experience in software development
  • 3+ years of experience directly managing engineers
  • Strong experience with C# .Net, SQL Server, COM, COM-Interop, Docker, Redis, and Kubernetes (k8s)
  • Proficiency in containerized microservices
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills to articulate technical concepts and solutions
  • Experience in leading technical projects and providing strategic direction
  • A passion for continuous learning and staying updated with industry trends
  • Familiarity with Jira and Agile methodologies
  • Understanding of SDLC processes and best practices
  • Ability to provide high-level estimations and contribute to roadmap refinement
