Formación

Maintenance Mechanical Engineer

Objective

Ensure the reliability and availability of mechanical equipment by implementing preventive and predictive maintenance practices, failure analysis, and continuous improvement.

Main Responsibilities

  • Execute preventive and predictive maintenance plans on key mechanical equipment (pumps, gearboxes, compressors, furnaces, etc.).
  • Perform basic failure analysis (RCFA) and propose low- and medium-impact corrective actions.
  • Participate in improving lubrication, alignment, and balancing routines.
  • Maintain technical records and up-to-date maintenance reports in the CMMS system.
  • Support installation or modification projects of equipment under supervision.
  • Collaborate with technicians and operators to ensure the correct execution of routines.
  • Design and optimize preventive, predictive, and condition-based mechanical maintenance plans.
  • Lead complex failure analysis (RCFA) and implement improvement projects to increase MTBF and reduce MTTR.
  • Coordinate mechanical commissioning activities for new equipment or modifications.
  • Evaluate and manage equipment criticality, defining spare parts strategies with the warehouse team.
  • Train technicians and operators in autonomous maintenance routines and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for safety, cost, and reliability improvements, proposing savings and efficiency projects.
  • Act as a technical reference for complex problems and support higher-level maintenance engineering.

Position Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Operations / Maintenance, Maintenance Planning & Control.
  • Industry experience: Automotive, Aluminum Handling, or Manufacturing Industry.
  • Skills: Leadership, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, communication, teamwork.
  • Proficient in English.
