Job summary

The role requires deep COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL and z/OS expertise, plus proven leadership of a 5-6 member team and experience with migration projects.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, analyze requirements, and deliver reliable solutions in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Strong COBOL, DYL280, DB2, CICS, and JCL in a z/OS environment.
• Experience with IBM z/OS products including ISPF, TSO/E, VSAM and IBM Utilities.
• Experience leading a development team and managing migration projects.
• Proven ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.

Mainframe Engineer - Professional Job Description: Mainframe Application lead specializing in designing, documenting, programming and supporting tools for our Mainframe development community’s efforts primarily for the Claims Application.

Essential Skills

• Highly competent in processes involved in systems analysis and use of appropriate tools for resolution. Including understanding design factors, system capacities, hardware and software requirements, coding, testing, and debugging programs.
• Excellent verbal and communication skills.
• Excels in ability to multi-task and stay organized in a dynamic work environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with subordinates, peers and management.
• Should have worked on migration project.
• Should have handled team of 5-6 developers and should have proven track record

Required Skills

• Highly proficient in COBOL, DYL280, DB2, CICS, and JCL in a z/OS environment
• Proficient in establishing CICS table entries for new programs, transactions and files
• Knowledge of using the following IBM products: z/OS, DB2 for z/OS, ISPF, TSO/E, VSAM, JCL, IBM Utilities, PDS/PDSE dataset format
• Knowledge of project design considerations for interfacing with distributed applications, coordinating project designs and implementation plans
• Experience in project life cycle phases including analysis, design, programming and implementation
• Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
