Qualcomm Intl Inc., Mexico Branch Office seeks a Linux Administrator (IT Senior Engineer) with strong UNIX/Linux expertise including RHEL, Ubuntu, SUSE and Solaris. You will handle hardware platforms from HP, Sun, Super Micro, Dell and VMware, with Ansible automation and SAN/RAID storage in a critical production environment.

The role requires 3+ years with a Bachelor’s or 5+ years without one, and involves cross-location server management and collaboration with IT teams.

Formación

• 3+ years IT experience with a Bachelor’s degree.
• OR 5+ years IT experience without a Bachelor’s degree.
• Strong knowledge of UNIX variants: RHEL, Ubuntu/SUSE, Solaris.
• Experience with HP, Sun, Super Micro, Dell hardware.
• Experience with VMware in production environments.
• Experience with Ansible automation.
• Experience with Veritas cluster and Pacemaker.
• Scripting in csh, sh, bash, python, or perl.

Responsabilidades

• Administer physical and virtual infrastructure UNIX-based hosts.
• Configure and deploy hardware devices (HP/Dell/Sun/Super Micro).
• Operate storage technologies including SAN and RAID.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues affecting service availability.

General Summary

Linux Administrator (IT Senior Engineer)

Knowledge in UNIX Operating systems like Red Hat Enterprise Linux / Ubuntu/SUSE and Solaris should be flexible and have cross platform working knowledge

Hands on experience in configuring and deploying Hardware devices like HP DL/BL Series Servers, Sun Hardware, Super Micro and Dell - Enclosures/Blade hardware platform

Baseline Knowledge

• Knowledge in of UNIX Operating systems like Red Hat Enterprise Linux / Ubuntu/SUSE and Solaris should be flexible and have cross platform working knowledge
• In-depth familiarity and strong troubleshooting skills in Unix operation
• Administration of physical and virtual infrastructure UNIX based hosts in complex heterogeneous environments
• Fundamentals Storage technologies, SAN and RAID concepts
• Datacenter Operations
• Hands on experience in configuring and deploying Hardware devices like HP DL/BL Series Servers, Sun Hardware, Super Micro and Dell - Enclosures/Blade hardware platform
• Configuration tools like Ansible is required
• Investigation, diagnosis and resolution of technical issues affecting service availability
• knowledge on server PXE installation, kickstart configurations, patching and package management
• Responsibilities include managing servers across the locations which includes Linux, Solaris, and a footprint of VMware in a critical production environment
• Knowledge on configuring Veritas cluster & Pacemaker
• Act as Escalation point for engineers for technical and process related issues
• Partnering with different representatives across the company
• Knowledge transfer among multiple team members and sharing of service responsibilities, Rotational hand-offs
• Knowledge of one or more scripting languages: csh, sh, bash, python, perl

Minimum Qualifications

• 3+ years of IT-related work experience with a Bachelor's degree.

OR

5+ years of IT-related work experience without a Bachelor’s degree.
