MiQ Digital in Mexico City is seeking a Legal Counsel LATAM to lead commercial legal support across LATAM, review and negotiate contracts, and guide regulatory compliance for 12 territories within AdTech.

You will advise sales, operations and product teams on service agreements, NDAs and data processing, support post-acquisition integration of Adsmovil and Rocketlab, and manage relationships with external counsel.

Formación

• Law degree with 4–7 years of transactional/corporate/tech law.
• Experience negotiating complex commercial contracts.
• Advanced English, written and spoken.
• Ability to work autonomously and communicate clearly to non-legal audiences.
• Familiarity with LATAM data privacy regulations; Habeas Data in Colombia is a plus.

• Monitor regulatory changes in data privacy, digital advertising, and consumer protection across LATAM.
• Manage relationships with external counsel when specialized local expertise is required.
• Contribute to building the LATAM legal function: processes, templates and playbooks.

The Legal Counsel LATAM in Latin America is a key member of our global legal team. This role leads commercial legal support across LATAM, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of contracts, advising internal teams on day-to-day legal matters, and overseeing regional regulatory compliance across 12 territories. It also supports post-acquisition integration work, manages outside counsel, and helps build the LATAM legal function through scalable processes, templates, and governance frameworks.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

As the Legal Counsel for Latin America, you will have following responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Contracts.Review, draft and negotiate commercial contracts with clients (agencies, brands, publishers), technology vendors, data providers and strategic partners across LATAM.
• Regional coverage.Provide legal support for operations in 12 territories across LATAM, with sound judgment on when to escalat
• Internal advisory.Advise sales, operations and product teams on day-to-day legal matters: service agreements, SAASs, NDAs, data processing agreements.
• M&A Integration.Support the post-acquisition integration of Adsmovil and Rocketlab: contract harmonization, internal policies and governance frameworks.
• Regulatory compliance.Monitor regulatory changes relevant to the AdTech business across the region: data privacy, digital advertising, consumer protection.
• External firms.Manage relationships with external counsel when specialized local expertise is required.
• Team building.Contribute to building the LATAM legal function: processes, templates, playbooks and best practices.

Who You Are:

MUST HAVES

• Law degree with 4 to 7 years of experience in transactional law, corporate law or technology, ideally marketing/media agencies, in-house or at a firm with tech/media clients.
• Solid experience reviewing and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
• Advanced English (written and spoken).
• Ability to work autonomously, prioritize in high-demand environments and communicate clearly to non-legal audiences.
• Familiarity with data privacy regulations in LATAM (Habeas Data in Colombia is a plus).

NICE TO HAVES

• Experience in AdTech, digital media, SaaS or technology platforms.
• Experience working with international clients or in multinational corporate structures.
• Knowledge of digital advertising regulatory frameworks (IAB, GDPR as reference, CCPA).
• Conversational Portuguese (not required, but valued for coordination with Brazil).
• Proactive and emotionally intelligent, with the ability to manage pressure and prioritize effectively in fast-paced environments.
• Strong judgment with the ability to challenge stakeholders constructively while maintaining a calm and solutions-oriented approach.
