Corning Incorporated seeks a technical support professional to assist front-line workforce and manufacturing engineers in an industrial environment. You will work hands-on with production equipment, identify process improvements, and help implement new methods on the line.

You will train operators, apply Lean and KT tools to boost yields, throughput and product quality, and participate in safety compliance and equipment projects aimed at reducing downtime and costs.

Formación

• Math/Science background required.
• Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude required.
• Experience with roles that lead to better understanding of equipment and processes.

Responsabilidades

• Support production line daily to improve yields, throughput and quality.
• Train and coach operators on processes and procedures.
• Utilize KT and Lean tools to reduce downtime and improve costs and product quality.
• Support or lead optimization and standardization projects using DMAIC tools.
• Share learnings across shifts and product lines.
• Work on equipment projects to reduce costs, downtime and defects; increase yields.
• Assist in deploying new equipment on the production line.
• Guide teams to comply with safety, health and environmental regulations.
• Create project plans with resources and accurate timelines.
• Participate in developing new processes or machines to improve current processes.

Role Purpose

Provides technical support to front-line workforce and manufacturing engineers making products in an industrial environment. Works hands‑on with manufacturing equipment and activities. Identifies and supports process improvements. Uses judgment, experience and initiative to resolve problems and make recommendations. May help determine methods and procedures on new assignments

Key Responsibilities

• Supports production line on a daily basis to help deliver yields, throughput and product quality
• Trains and coaches front‑line production employees (operators) on proper processes and procedures
• Utilizes KT and Lean tools to reduce downtime, increase yields, and improve costs and product quality
• Supports or leads optimization and standardization projects understanding DMAIC tools
• Facilitates the sharing of learnings across shifts and across product lines
• Works on equipment projects to reduce costs, downtime and/or defects and increase yields
• Gives input into development and implements new equipment on the production line
• Proactively guides front‑line production employees and technical teams to comply with safety, health and environmental regulations
• Creates project plans that identify resources and accurate timeline
• May be asked to participate in developing a new process or machine to improve the current process
