Johnson Controls in the Monterrey area (Apodaca) is seeking a Senior Materials Planner to lead Kanban and MRP/ERP planning, ensuring material availability and minimizing disruption. You will collaborate with production, warehouse, procurement, and suppliers to optimize the supply chain and costs.

Responsibilities include establishing Kanban, leading MRP activities, monitoring supplier performance, and expediting materials to match demand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Logistics, or related field; 6+ years in materials management or scheduling.
• Experience leading teams in Materials, Warehouse, or Production Scheduling.
• Proficiency in MRP and ERP systems; strong data analysis and interpretation.
• Advanced English communication skills.

Role Overview

In this role, you will lead Kanban and materials planning activities that support smooth production execution. You will use MRP/ERP data, supplier metrics, and day-to-day operational coordination to improve material availability, reduce disruption, and strengthen supply chain performance.

What will you do?

• Establish and maintain Kanban systems to support efficient material flow to the production line.


• Lead Materials Requirement Planning activities in MRP and ERP systems.


• Monitor supplier performance metrics and drive actions to improve delivery performance.


• Coordinate daily material expediting and adjust production priorities to support changing demand and supply conditions.


• Manage warehouse operations and ensure compliance with routing guides.


• Collaborate with procurement to identify and qualify suppliers and support vendor quality processes.


• Analyze data, procedural activities, and information flows to identify gaps and improve supply chain efficiency and cost control.


• Support consignment programs and inventory movement for outside processing operations when applicable.


• Train and develop material planning staff and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

How will you do it?

• Own the flow of materials with accountability, safety, and integrity as you manage Kanban replenishment and production support priorities.


• Stay close to the work by working with production, warehouse, procurement, and suppliers to remove obstacles quickly.


• Use data and candor to improve every day by reviewing performance metrics, identifying root causes, and adjusting plans based on what the process needs.


• Work as one team by building trust across functions and using diverse perspectives to strengthen decisions.

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.


• Minimum of six years of experience in materials management, production scheduling, inventory control, or supply chain operations in a manufacturing environment.


• Experience managing teams in Materials, Warehouse, or Production Scheduling functions.


• Proficiency in MRP and/or ERP systems.


• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect and interpret data from systems, processes, and material flows.


• Advanced conversational English.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of MacPac ERP.


• APICS CPIM, CSCP, or CLTD certification.


• Experience with Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
