A leading provider of thermal management solutions is looking for a Mechanical Engineer in Monterrey, Nuevo León. The role involves designing computer room air conditioning products and collaborating across teams to ensure successful product launches. Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and possess hands-on CAD tools experience, specifically in PTC Creo and Solid Edge. Strong troubleshooting skills and a detail-oriented approach are essential. The job may require travel to the production factory for product launch.

Descripción del empleo

The Mechanical Engineer supports new product development for the company’s Thermal global products. The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the physical design of new products as part of a cross-functional group. This engineer must be a practical hands‑on type of engineer who can start with an abstract concept and see it through to product launch.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design new computer room air conditioning (CRAC) products
  • Develop solutions to complex problems where little or no precedent exists – the use of ingenuity and creativity is regularly required
  • Create and modify mechanical parts/assemblies/drawings in CAD systems, such as Creo and/or Solid Edge
  • Create and maintain Bill of Materials and unit configurator logic to select the correct BOMs based on options selected by the customer
  • Work with Marketing, Manufacturing, Service and Quality to understand their requirements to design a product that best meets all their needs
  • Assist with prototype builds by providing technical support and guidance when issues arise
  • Gather feedback from prototype builds and field trials and implement appropriate improvements to the product
  • Understand the products and suggest ideas and improvements
  • Assist with troubleshooting of escalated or recurring field issues
  • Interact with outside vendors and suppliers as needed
  • Participate in the identification of cost‑reduction opportunities and in the design and development of cost‑reduction changes
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • Basic working knowledge of mechanical and electrical concepts, products and safety
  • CAD tools experience – PTC Creo 8+ (preferred), Solid Edge, and/or Solid Works
  • Experience with sheet metal, piping and assemblies is a plus
  • Data‑entry systems familiarity – Oracle, Agile, Windchill, etc.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve (and prevent) a wide range of problems quickly and methodically
  • Detail oriented
  • Excellent planning, organizing, documentation and communication skills

  • Must be able to work in the lab or production facility to diagnose and solve problems

  • Occasional kneeling / crawling / stooping
  • Occasional bending / twisting
TRAVEL REQUIRED
  • Travel to the production factory in Apodaca for product launch
