Placements24 seeks an experienced Specialist in Irrigation Systems and Water Resource Management to design, implement, and optimize water usage strategies across farming operations in Tijuana, Baja California. The role focuses on efficiency, sustainability, and crop health.

You will collaborate with agronomists and farm managers, stay current with irrigation technologies, and train staff. The position offers hybrid work with occasional site visits and the opportunity to impact water resource

Qualifications

• University degree in Agricultural Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, Agronomy, or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience designing, managing, and maintaining agricultural irrigation systems.
• In-depth knowledge of irrigation technologies and water management principles.
• Experience with water conservation techniques and technologies.
• Proficiency in using irrigation scheduling software, sensors, and data analysis tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a hybrid team with occasional site visits.
• Knowledge of local water regulations and environmental standards in Baja California is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, and maintain advanced irrigation systems tailored to crop needs and soil types.
• Monitor water usage and soil moisture to optimize irrigation schedules.
• Develop and implement water conservation strategies to reduce consumption.
• Conduct regular inspections of irrigation infrastructure to identify issues.
• Manage pump systems, filters, and control panels for optimal performance.
• Analyze water quality and its impact on crops and soil.
• Train farm personnel on irrigation equipment operation and maintenance.
• Stay updated on new technologies and best practices in agricultural water management.
• Collaborate with agronomists and farm managers to align water strategies with crop production goals.
• Prepare reports on water usage, system performance, and improvement recommendations.
