A Warehouse Automation Specialist Engineer designs, implements, and maintains automated systems in warehouses to improve efficiency and reduce costs.This role requires a strong understanding of logistics, supply chain management, and automation principles, including robotics, conveyor systems, and software applications.Key responsibilities include analyzing warehouse needs, selecting appropriate technologies, troubleshooting issues, and training staff in new systems.
Detailed Responsibilities:
Performance Monitoring and Analysis: Monitoring warehouse system performance, analyzing data to identify bottlenecks, and recommending improvements.
Collaboration and Communication: Collaborating with warehouse managers, operations teams, and IT staff to identify automation opportunities, implement solutions, and train staff.
Optimization: recommend automation solutions into existing warehouse systems, optimizing workflows, and ensuring smooth system operation.
System Design and Implementation: designing and developing automated systems likeautomated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS),conveyors, and robotic solutions.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Identifying and resolving issues with automated systems, performing maintenance, and ensuring system reliability.
Staying Updated: Keeping abreast of the latest advancements in warehouse automation technology and recommending upgrades or improvements.
Documentation: Documenting system designs, testing procedures, and maintenance protocols.
Required experience
Education: Degree in Industrial Engineer or related field.
Experience: 10 years of experience in warehouse automation, industrial automation, or related fields.
Technical Proficiency:
CAD Proficiency: Expert-level proficiency in AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
Technical experience and/or training in Lean principles and manufacturing techniques.
Desirable Six Sigma experience.
Project Management experience and/or training.
Knowledge of Health and Safety law and best practice.
Problem-Solving Skills: ability to analyze complex problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
Analytical Skills: ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations.
Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
Collaboration Skills: Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Travel: able to travel to Monterrey.
English language level: bilingual.
