Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Mechatronics Systems Engineer (Remote) to join a distributed engineering team from anywhere in Mexico. You will design, develop, and integrate advanced mechatronic solutions spanning mechanical, electrical, and software domains, with emphasis on control systems and embedded hardware.

The role requires 7+ years of experience, strong CAD, RTOS, and programming skills, and collaboration with remote engineers and product managers. Fluency in Spanish and English is required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or closely related field.
• 7+ years of professional experience in the design and development of mechatronic systems.
• Proficiency in CAD software for mechanical design.
• Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or similar.
• Knowledge of control theory, feedback systems, and signal processing.
• Experience with system integration and testing methodologies.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and collaborate remotely.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Strong communication skills, with fluency in Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop integrated mechatronic systems, encompassing mechanical, electrical, and software components.
• Create detailed mechanical designs for components and assemblies using advanced CAD software.
• Develop and implement control algorithms and embedded software for mechatronic systems.
• Integrate sensors, actuators, and other electronic components into system designs.
• Perform system-level simulations and analysis to validate designs and predict performance.
• Collaborate effectively with remote team members, including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers, as well as product managers.
• Develop comprehensive technical documentation, including specifications, schematics, code, and test reports.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex mechatronic system issues, both in simulation and on prototype hardware.
• Stay current with advancements in mechatronics, robotics, IoT, and related fields.
• Manage project tasks and timelines effectively within a remote work environment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and best practices for remote collaboration.
• Ensure all designs meet performance, safety, and reliability requirements.
