Placements24 is seeking a specialized Telecommunications Engineer focusing on Transmission and Access technologies to design, implement and support high-speed networks. This remote role requires deep technical understanding of DWDM, GPON, and wireless links, plus experience in capacity planning and network documentation.

You will collaborate with field operations and vendors to ensure reliable delivery, monitor performance, and evaluate new solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in telecommunications network engineering (transmission and access).
• Strong knowledge of optical networks (DWDM, GPON) and wireless transmission systems.
• Experience with network planning and capacity management tools.
• Independent work ability in a remote setting; strong documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer transmission network solutions, including optical transport (DWDM, SONET/SDH) and microwave links.
• Plan and implement access network technologies such as FTTx, DSL, and wireless access solutions.
• Analyze network capacity requirements and forecast future growth for transmission and access infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues within the transmission and access network segments.
• Develop and maintain detailed design documentation, network diagrams, and equipment specifications.
