Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Electrical Power Production Engineer for our client in Acapulco, Guerrero, MX. The role focuses on sustaining reliable power generation, operating turbines, generators and control systems, and ensuring safety compliance.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and at least 3 years in the energy sector, with hands-on experience in power plant operations and SCADA. Rotating shift work and relocation to Acapulco may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in power generation, electrical systems operation, or a related area within the energia sector.
• Knowledge of power plant operations, including turbines, generators, and control systems.
• Familiarity with electrical safety standards (e.g., NFPA 70E) and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical information clearly.
• Willingness to work a rotating shift schedule, including nights and weekends, as required by operational needs.
• Experience with SCADA systems or similar control platforms is a plus.
• Resident or willingness to relocate to the vicinity of Acapulco, Guerrero, MX.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control power generation processes to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on electrical equipment and systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions, implementing corrective actions promptly.
• Analyze performance data and identify trends to improve operational reliability and reduce downtime.
• Ensure adherence to all safety regulations, environmental policies, and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with maintenance crews and other technical staff to coordinate repair and upgrade activities.
• Develop and maintain operational logs, reports, and documentation related to power generation.
• Participate in emergency response and system restoration efforts as needed.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the production department.
