Placements24 is seeking an experienced Welding Process Engineer for a state-of-the-art facility in Tlalnepantla, State of Mexico. You will develop and optimize welding procedures, lead qualification activities, and drive best practices across manufacturing teams.

The role requires deep knowledge of welding processes (MIG/TIG/Stick/SAW), metallurgy, and industry codes, with a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency. Collaboration with engineering, production, and quality teams is essential.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Welding Engineering, or a related field.
• In-depth knowledge of welding processes (MIG, TIG, Stick, Submerged Arc).
• Strong understanding of metallurgy, materials science, and mechanical properties of metals.
• Experience with codes and standards in fabrication (AWS/ASME).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Good communication and leadership abilities.

About the Role

Our client, a leader in metal fabrication and structural steel, is seeking an experienced Ingeniero de Proceso de Soldadura for their state-of-the-art facility in Tlalnepantla, State of Mexico . This critical role focuses on developing, implementing, and optimizing all welding processes to ensure the highest quality, efficiency, and safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of various welding techniques, materials, and equipment, along with a strong understanding of industry codes and specifications. You will work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to drive welding best practices and resolve complex technical challenges. This is a prime opportunity to contribute to significant projects within a reputable organization in the industrial heartland of Tlalnepantla, State of Mexico .

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, qualify, and implement welding procedures (WPS) and welder performance qualifications (PQR).
• Oversee all welding operations, ensuring adherence to specifications and industry standards (e.g., AWS, ASME).
• Troubleshoot welding-related issues and implement effective solutions to minimize defects and rework.
• Evaluate and select appropriate welding consumables, equipment, and processes for various applications.
• Collaborate with the quality control department to perform inspections and testing of welded components.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Welding Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in welding engineering or process engineering, with a focus on welding. Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or equivalent certification is highly desirable. In-depth knowledge of various welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick, Submerged Arc). Strong understanding of metallurgy, materials science, and mechanical properties of metals. Experience with relevant codes and standards in the fabrication industry. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision‑making skills. Good communication and leadership abilities. Ability to work effectively in a demanding manufacturing environment in Tlalnepantla, State of Mexico . Proficiency in technical documentation and reporting.
