Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an accomplished Ingeniero de Minas to contribute to mining operations in Naucalpan, State of Mexico. The role focuses on planning, design, and optimization of mine operations to maximize safety, efficiency and profitability.

You will collaborate with geological, processing and environmental teams to develop integrated mine plans, using Surpac, Deswik and Vulcan, and mentor junior engineers, with occasional on-site assessments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in mine planning, design, and operations.
• Proficiency in Surpac, Deswik, Vulcan and other planning tools.
• Strong understanding of mining methods, equipment, and constraints.
• Knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles and their application in mine design.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to mine sites as needed for site assessments and project support.
• Registered Professional Engineer designation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop short-term and long-term mine plans for open-pit or underground operations.
• Design mine layouts, including pit slopes, haul roads, and production sequencing.
• Utilize mine planning software (Surpac, Deswik, Vulcan) for design and optimization.
• Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new mining projects or expansions.
• Perform geotechnical assessments and slope stability analyses.
• Develop production schedules and forecasts, coordinating with operational teams.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in mine planning.
• Collaborate with other departments to integrate geological, processing, and financial data into mine plans.
