Safran Cabin in Baja California, Mexico, seeks a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to lead capability assessments and improvements with aerospace and automotive suppliers.

You will drive quality performance, manage supplier qualification, and mentor teams on APQP tools such as PFMEA, DFMEA, PPAP, and Control Plans while collaborating with sourcing and engineering to meet AS9100 requirements.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• Minimum 6 years in engineering, quality, supplier quality or supplier development in aerospace, automotive or mechanical manufacturing.
• Experience leading teams and influencing others.
• Knowledge of AS9100, ISO, APQP, PFMEA, PPAP and control plans.

Responsabilidades

• Perform supplier capability assessments covering quality systems, process controls, manufacturing capabilities, and lean maturity; identify gaps and support improvement plans.
• Monitor supplier performance indicators and drive actions to improve quality, delivery, and overall performance.
• Support supplier qualification and selection processes to ensure robust supplier onboarding.
• Assess supplier capability to meet product, quality, cost, capacity, delivery, and AS9100 requirements.
• Deploy Safran quality processes, tools, and metrics through training, reporting, and continuous improvement activities.
• Collaborate with sourcing and suppliers to manage engineering changes, capacity studies, new product introductions, and supplier transfers.
• Educate suppliers on Safran expectations and quality tools, including 8D, capability studies, PFMEA, DFMEA, Control Plans, PPAP, and continuous improvement practices.
• Facilitate investigations and special projects, strengthening supplier relationships and supporting product development and procurement activities.
• Lead supplier process improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, cycle time reduction, quality enhancement, delivery performance, and cost reduction.
• Act as a liaison between internal and external stakeholders to clarify requirements, improve communication, and ensure alignment.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering

Experience: Minimum 6 years of engineering, quality, supplier quality or supplier development experience in aerospace, automotive or mechanical manufacturing environment with the ability to lead and influence others.

Computer Skill:

• Basic knowledge Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Other Skills:

• Knowledge of quality systems, methods and practices; AS9100, ISO, APQP, PFMEA, PPAP and control plans
• Strong written and verbal business communications abilities must be comfortable delivering information to all levels of the organization including senior leadership.
