A leading engineering firm located in Torreón, Coahuila, is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer. This role involves overseeing I&E aspects for pump systems, ensuring safety and technical correctness, while collaborating across multiple departments. Candidates must have a degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial electrical design, preferably within the chemical or oil & gas sectors. Strong problem-solving abilities and communication skills in English are essential.

Formación

  • Degree from an accredited university in Electrical Engineering.

Role Summary

The Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer will oversee all Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) aspects of engineering related to dry vacuum pump and liquid ring pump/compressor systems to ensure all project objectives including safety, technical correctness, budget and schedule are met.

Responsibilities
  • Review and interpret electrical and instrumentation specifications ensuring global standards and safety codes are adhered to.
  • Development of electrical schematics, BOMs, control panel drawings, junction boxes and ladder logic diagrams.
  • Review and approve electrical designs including drawings and BOMs.
  • Direct designers and technicians from conceptual design through production and testing.
  • Interface with other engineering disciplines and other departments including purchasing, QA, and production.
  • Assist in developing control narratives or sequences of operations.
  • Review quotations and proposals from vendors.
  • Provide input for electrical, instrumentation, and controls sections of the IOM manuals for end users.
Requirements
  • Degree from an accredited university in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial electrical design, preferably chemical, oil & gas sectors.
  • Knowledge of process piping systems and associated equipment including liquid pumps, motors, heat exchangers and pressure vessels.
  • Versed on the relevant national and international standards as they apply to electrical, instrumentation and controls.
  • Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, CSA, FM, and UL. P&IDs, process flow diagrams, electrical schematics, ladder logic diagrams.
  • E-Plan, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, fieldbus topology.
  • Demonstrated experience with electrical specifications and integration into wiring diagrams of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
  • Basic knowledge of information technology tools including Windows, Microsoft Office products and other related tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to apply technology to creatively solve problems that meet business and stakeholder needs.
  • Flexible concerning working hours & willing to travel for planned visits or to overcome unexpected issues (up to 15%) if any.
  • Ability to work with geographically dispersed teams with culturally diverse membership.
  • Ability to work without close supervision and accomplish assignments of high quality and on time.
  • Strong oral and written English communication skills.
Preferred Requirements
  • Knowledge of instrumentation, including control valves, flow meters, transmitters (pressure, temperature and level), electrical and controls.
