Job Summary

The Global Quality Manager leads the development and execution of global quality strategies for a high-volume automation and material handling systems portfolio, driving standardized and scalable quality systems across Jabil’s global manufacturing workcells.

This role supports highly integrated electromechanical platforms, including robotics, conveyor systems, motor and drive systems, gear assemblies, device charging modules, cable harnesses, PCBAs assemblies and system-level assemblies operating in complex, high-volume, and fast-paced operational environments.

A critical aspect of the role is driving quality alignment and execution across a multi-site and multi-partner ecosystem, including system integration and assembly operations, end-customer environments, and third-party installation providers. The role ensures effective coordination and quality control across the full value chain from sub-assembly processes through final system integration and deployment enabling seamless system performance at the end-user site.

The position requires strong technical quality expertise, advanced analytical capability, and a data-driven approach to identify systemic risks, drive root cause resolution, and sustain long-term system reliability under real-world operating conditions. It also demands excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to influence cross-functional teams and external partners, ensuring timely issue resolution and consistent execution across global.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Business Strategy and Direction:
  • Develop a strong understanding of global customer strategic direction, translating business priorities into quality, operational, and system performance requirements across high volume manufacturing and field deployment environments.
  • Define, develop, and execute a Quality strategy that enables sustained product quality, system reliability, and operational performance across manufacturing, system integration, and deployment activities.
  • Partner closely with Business Unit leadership to align Quality priorities with customer expectations, production demands, and field performance requirements, ensuring effective execution across multi-site and multi partner environments.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders on Quality strategy execution, including performance trends, field issues, systemic risks, and improvement opportunities.
Cost Management:
  • Partner with Business Unit and Operations teams to drive cost optimization initiatives through process improvements, efficiency gains, and elimination of non-value added activities, while maintaining product quality, system reliability, and customer requirements.
Technical Management Responsibilities
  • Strong expertise in system level quality engineering for complex electromechanical systems, including robotics assemblies, conveyor systems, gear mechanisms, structural frames, power modules, and large-scale cable harnesses.
  • Strong understanding of automation and material handling systems operating in warehouse or high throughput logistics environments, including their system integration, operational, and reliability challenges.
  • Knowledge of PCBA manufacturing processes, including SMT, soldering processes, inspection methodologies, and key failure mechanisms, with the ability to link upstream process performance to downstream system quality and field reliability.
  • Deep knowledge of system integration across mechanical, electrical, and control interfaces, with the ability to identify and mitigate interaction related failure modes in dynamic operating conditions.
  • Strong capability in field failure analysis and closed loop quality systems, including failure trend analysis, root cause investigation, and deployment of corrective and preventive actions across manufacturing sites and external partners.
  • Expertise in structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, and DMAIC, with the ability to resolve complex system level and cross functional issues.
  • Strong analytical and data driven decision-making capability, leveraging quality data from manufacturing, testing, and field performance to identify risks, detect trends, and drive improvements.
  • Good understanding of high-volume manufacturing processes for complex system assemblies, including system integration, configuration control, and deployment readiness.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems and the ability to standardize best practices across multiple sites and regions.
  • Demonstrated improvement in quality performance metrics, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring customer satisfaction in complex operational environments.
  • Proven ability to lead cross functional teams and influence stakeholders across internal organizations and external partners.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical issues clearly and effectively to different levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership in resolving global customer quality escalations, driving issues to timely closure while maintaining clear and effective communication with all stakeholders.
Leadership And Management Responsibilities
Employee and Team Development:
  • Identify current and future quality capability needs across the global organization, assessing individual and team strengths, gaps, and development priorities in support of complex automation and electromechanical systems.
  • Build and sustain strong technical expertise in system level quality engineering, including robotics assemblies, conveyor systems, gear and frame structures, power modules, and large-scale cable harnesses, as well as their integration within high volume manufacturing and field deployment environments.
  • Mentor and develop Quality talent to strengthen capabilities in system integration, reliability, advanced problem solving, and data driven analysis, enabling consistent and effective execution across manufacturing sites and external partners.
  • Establish, grow, and manage a strong Quality leadership pipeline aligned to business growth, global scale, and increasing system complexity, ensuring readiness to support multi-site and multi partner operational environments.
Performance Management
  • Define and cascade clear, measurable performance objectives aligned to quality outcomes, system reliability, high volume manufacturing performance, and program execution milestones in complex and fast paced environments
  • Hold individuals and teams accountable for results through disciplined performance reviews tied to operational metrics such as product quality, field performance, issue resolution effectiveness, delivery commitments, and continuous improvement outcomes.
  • Actively gather structured feedback from cross functional stakeholders, manufacturing sites, and external partners to gain a balanced view of performance, execution effectiveness, and leadership impact across the extended value chain.
  • Provide regular coaching and targeted development guidance to strengthen technical depth in system level quality, analytical problem solving, execution discipline, and leadership effectiveness across the team.
  • Execute performance evaluations consistently, professionally, and on schedule, ensuring alignment between individual development plans and evolving business needs in high complexity and multi partner environments.
  • Drive sustained improvement in team and individual performance through data driven insights, root cause based corrective actions, and reinforcement of best practices across sites.
  • Ensure recognition and reward mechanisms are applied fairly, consistently, and transparently, reinforcing accountability, ownership, and sustained high performance.
Communication
  • Establish structured and effective communication forums to ensure alignment across global manufacturing sites, cross functional teams, and external partners, enabling timely decision making and consistent execution.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely in both verbal and written formats, translating complex technical and quality issues into actionable insights tailored to different stakeholders, including operations, engineering, and external partners.
  • Facilitate open and transparent dialogue to drive issue resolution, actively seeking input, feedback, and diverse perspectives to address system level challenges and risks.
  • Adapt communication style and approach based on audience, situation, and urgency, ensuring clarity and alignment in both routine operations and high impact escalation scenarios.
Management & Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This role typically reports into the Global Quality Organization, with direct reporting to a Global Customer Quality Director or equivalent senior Quality leadership role.
  • The Global Quality Manager partners closely with site-based quality and manufacturing personnel to provide guidance, ensure adherence to standards, and oversee local execution of global quality strategies.
