Caterpillar Inc. in Mexico (Nuevo León) seeks a Component Design Engineer – Large Engine to concept, develop, and design complex engine components within the cylinder head, engine block, and housing team.

You will partner with global teams to deliver robust solutions and advance engineering concepts. You will contribute to diesel, natural gas, and alternate-fuel engines, plan and deliver projects, mentor teammates, and collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing to release validated components

Formación

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Materials Science, or a related accredited technical curriculum.
Advanced English-speaking level is required.
Willingness to travel up to 15% (international and domestic).

Responsabilidades

Design core engine components as part of a global team that includes heads, blocks, and housings.
Collaborate with manufacturing, purchasing, quality, marketing, and engineering to meet requirements.
Perform root cause analysis and structured problem solving for manufacturing and product issues.
Evaluate design, reliability, durability, validation costs, and program requirements.
Apply NPI processes to conduct FMEAs, plan validations, and complete validation activities.
Evaluate new products, processes, or systems including supplier change requests.
Complete projects on time and within cost targets for NTI, NPI, CPI and NSI programs.
Communicate results to customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
Lead supplier collaboration and CPPD efforts.
