A leading energy infrastructure company in Mexico City is seeking a professional skilled in economic analysis and financial modeling. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and 3 to 4 years of experience in the energy sector. Responsibilities include performing analysis for investments and assisting senior management with business cases. Responsibilities
  • Perform complex economic analysis to understand the return, risks, and viability of potential infrastructure investments
  • Evaluate potential mergers and acquisitions. This includes performing due diligence activities to develop a fundamentally market driven opinion that will aid in forming economic models and cases related to the opportunity
  • Assist senior management and the board of directors in decision making by preparing business cases and financial summaries
  • Develop and maintain key relationships, within the company, with individuals that will impact and/or assist the financial analysis of projects (e.g. engineering, regulatory, tax)
  • Work in conjunction with Financial Planning to ensure project budgets/forecasts are accurately captured in the company plan
  • Work in conjunction with Rates and Regulatory to ensure the correct regulatory framework and/or rate case outcomes are applied appropriately to different situations
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of financial statements, metrics and measures, and key strategic business initiatives
  • Identify and implement process improvements
  • Understand and utilize economic and industry data as it relates to job responsibilities
  • Other tasks as required
Minimum Qualification
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, or another related field
  • 3 to 4 years relevant experience in the energy sector
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to perform complex financial and economic modeling
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance concepts
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to juggle competing priorities while working to deadlines
  • Ability to identify and initiate change and improvements to existing processes
  • Capability and flexibility to respond to time pressure by adjusting work hours to meet critical deadlines
Preferred Qualification
  • MBA, CFA or professional accounting designation
  • Energy infrastructure experience from a commercial or regulatory perspective
  • knowledge of the PBC tool (Desirable)
